ooc| Here's a thread to start off any characters that are new or aren't being used at the moment (if we have any pugnacious Pro-Clan cats, Frozenheart would be a willing opponent).

A pink tongue swept over white fur. The tom's task was a futile one; a white cat could never have a clean pelt in this sandy, dusty, dirty place - none knew this better than Frozenheart - and yet he felt compelled to wash. However, he wouldn't mind an interruption to his struggle with the impossible. Any social cat would find that Frozenheart was a good "listener". He couldn't hear, of course, but often by watching a cat speak he could determine what they were saying. In fact, the deaf tom was rather fond of conversations - he enjoyed the company of other cats and watching what they would say.
At the moment, though, he was alone with his filthy fur.

With nothing to do, Spiderpaw looked around the edifice for someone to talk to. 'Perhaps I can see just how many cats want a Clan and how many don't,' she thought. After sitting where she was for a few more minutes, she spotted Frozenheart. 'I don't know that white tom,' she thought, 'but it would be nice to get his opinion.' Having thought this, she got up and padded over to him. "Hello," she meowed cheerfully to the white tom. "I'm Spiderpaw, and I'd like to ask your opinion on something."

Frozenheart looked up at Spiderpaw, blue eyes wide in pleasant surprise. One did not come across strangers often. He sat up and nodded his consent, though he hoped she wasn't expecting a vocal answer. It seemed strange that a small she-cat would approach a tom she didn't know and ask for his opinion. It must not be something too personal, he thought, tilting his white head.

Smiling, Spiderpaw meowed, "Do you think we - that is to say, all of the cats here - should become a Clan again?" She hoped that the unfamiliar tom was not an aggressive cat against the idea of a Clan - it would be a short battle, most likely with the white cat winning.

Frozenheart gave a vigorous shake of his head. From what he saw, he couldn't tell her position on the subject. This wasn't anything to be concerned about, though. If she disagreed, she wouldn't have anything more to say and would leave.... right?

Spiderpaw paused, uncertain as to whether she should ask the white tom why he thought so or just leave while she had all her fur. After a moment, she managed to ask, "Why do you think so?" trying not to stammer.

Frozenheart drew in a breath. It was frustrating, knowing he couldn't tell her the reason because of the reason, despite how much he wished to explain. The first thing she had to understand, though, was that he was watching her speak rather than listening.
Hoping she would understand like Frailheart had, the tom frowned and pawed at his right ear, making sure it looked like a deliberate act rather than an attempt to satisfy an itch.

Sandwhisker crouched a short distance away; her green eyes narrowed lazily as she drew her tongue over her paw. She had been listening to the conversation for some time and wondered why the tom wasn't replying.

Spiderpaw frowned. It was as if there was something bothering his ear...something that the white tom was trying to point out. If he was pointing it out, it probably wasn't something temporary, such as an itch or a bug. Which left one thing, one reason why he was pawing his ear. 'He must be deaf,' Spiderpaw thought as she looked into his blue eyes. "I'm sorry for not realizing that," Spiderpaw mumbled awkwardly.

Frozenheart rubbed against her, a little impressed with how quick she caught on. That should answer all her questions. Wouldn't it make sense that a cat without hearing wouldn't want to be part of a Clan? Although he was disinclined to explain, he didn't think he would need to.
As his eyes wandered, he noticed Sandwhisker and gave her a curt but friendly nod of greeting. Perhaps she had something to say on the subject.
