I've heard it described as having the feeling of having done something before when you actually haven't.

Yes. I've had it a lot before, and that's just what it's like--recalling a memory of something as it's happening. Weird feeling. Disconcerting, it is.

Heck no. You don't get it. I've had deja vu about random things that couldn't have happened to anyone but me right at that moment. It's not like "Oh, I'm looking at this historic painting of a guy on a horse, and I remember being on a horse before." No. It's like, "I'm upstairs playing toy horses with this girl and her glittery pink pegasus on the carpet by the chair has her mane tangled and her body tipped to the side in a way that looks so familiar in such specific detail that it's like I must have seen a picture of the exact same thing before." Deja vu happens about stuff that you know you've never done or seen before and you know wouldn't have happened to anyone else. There's nothing past lives about it. It's just a disorienting misfunction of the brain.

Ah ha. That makes sense. Hrm..I've only had a moment sort of that when I saw Crow's picture and he looked so familiar for some reason...

I have deja vu all the time. The weird thing is, I always have deja vu before I do whatever it is I had deja vu about! *confuses self*

Well that's confusing.
Also, when I saw your new avatar, I didn't know the orange thing was a cat, and I thought it was Voldemort's mohawk.
