ooc;;
"Speaking of which, you need either make it evident that she's insane or have her not be insane at all." -- Ahh, I suppose so. I think I'll make her a logical cat, rather than insane. I probably don't handle insane people (or cats for that matter) very well anyways. e___e
"Didn't she say at some point, "I don't want power"...?" -- Hmm, so she did. -edits-
I find myself sometimes imagining Speckledclaw to be somewhat like Terry Pratchett's Granny Weatherwax. x3;
bic;;
Speckledclaw caught herself feeling shocked at Shortwhisker's response. She looked at the tom who had just spoken up for her, and nodded at him in a thanks-for-your-help-but-you-need-not-bother-yourself kind of way.
Slowly, menacingly, she narrowed her dulled yellow-green gaze into a sharp, drilling one and aligned it with Shortwhisker's. "It would seem that your manners are either hidden somewhere, or you have none. I'm not looking to pick a fight, now, but it seems that you are?" The warrior looked Shortwhisker up and down, noting the stocky limbs.
Redstream looked irritated at the commotion that was brewing. It was interrupting the experiment. She wanted to stop it, but that would mean butting in, and she wasn't sure she wanted the do that. THe situation more or less seemed under control, however.
Orangestorm was still grooming himself, but he seemed to take more interest now that there was a bit of commotion. He was feeling that he wasn't much use of a spy at the moment, however.

Patchfur knew he didn't need to help Speckledclaw, and actually, he hadn't said that to help her. He was just fed up with Shortwhisker treating everyone he wasn't fond of like a pile of cricket droppings. He himself didn't like Woodstripe, but at least he didn't insult her. He didn't know what was wrong with the tom, and didn't want to spend enough time with him to find out. If he did, he would surely be driven insane. He turned around, knowing that Speckledclaw didn't need his help, and walked back to Woodstripe. "Why are you letting Shortwhisker join the experiment again? He's mentally unstable," he said, talking in a soft meow so Shortwhisker wouldn't hear.

ooc| "Terry Pratchett's Granny Weatherwax." -googled her- She looks intense.
bic|
Woodstripe answered in the same soft tones. "For one thing, he wants to participate. In addition, I would think it clear that, not only would I like as many participants as possible, but also that I theorize he requires an authoritative influence in order to aid him in remaining stable."
"I-I'm n-n-not looking f-for a f-fight!" the tom sputtered, cowering. "W-we sh-should ch-choose a lead-d-der soon so th-that cats like you d-don't hurt c-cats like m-me. I... I n-nominate R-Redst-stream!"

Patchfur thought for a few moments. If there was a leader, it would certainly make Shortwhisker more sane. "I guess you're right," he admitted. If they had to have Shortwhisker here, it was best to have a leader, no matter what he thought. Besides, he would only have to deal with a leader for a little while. "Well, I nominate Bronzefoot," he meowed.
Dingypaw looked up as Redstream's name was spoken. Surprisingly, it was Shortwhisker who had nominated her. She didn't think the two of them would have the same opinion on who should be leader. Since Redstream was already nominated, she didn't have to say anything, right?

ooc;; "Since Redstream was already nominated, she didn't have to say anything, right?" -- Isn't the leader decided by the number of nominations he/she receives? Or did Dingypaw not pick up on that? Just wondering.

Ooc: Well, I thought that certain cats were nominated and then there would be a voting poll. Did things change without my knowlege?

ooc| Now I feel stupid for not making things clearer. Sorry y'all.
This is how it goes: A cat nominates another cat and said nominated cat either accepts or declines the nomination. When at least two cats have recieved and accepted nominations, then the first election can begin.
So now Bronzefoot and Redstream need to accept or decline their nominations.

ooc Ahh, thanks Ten. C:
bic Redstream turned to Shortwhisker in surprise as her name was mentioned. The white and black tom thought she was leader material? In two seconds thoughts of a leader's responsibility came crashing on to her shoulders. The she-cat blinked. Whenever she had imagined a clan, she'd always thought everything would've been taken care of automatically. She had never even thought of what a clan leader would have to do for their clan. However, all this business about the experiment had made her think. She knew she wanted cats to be taken care of properly, kits and elders alike. She knew that she wanted proper hunting groups and a proper food-pile to eat from, as she had heard in the stories. Suddenly the voices of the cats were magnified tenfold and the she-cat sat bolt upright, listening intently. If she got nominated for leader, she'd better do a darn good job of it.
"I accept your nomination, thank you."
The orange tom was getting sick of all of this Clanner stuff. He was getting tired ... But wait-- what? Orangestorm stared in disbelief. His sister? For leader? The scoff that came to his mouth was barely stifled in time - thankfully it hadn't been a loud one. As the second cat to get nominated was, well ... nominated, Orangestorm began to focus on stuffing all this information into a safe spot at the back of his mind.
Speckledclaw bristled at Shortwhisker's response. Coward, bloody coward ... Certainly it was immature for her to abuse him in this manner and Speckledclaw knew it, but her nerves were being grated. Her temper, her temper ... The warrior's rage seeped out of her and she stepped back, sitting down. It came to her attention that two cats had just been nominated. She turned to study Redstream as the she-cat accepted the nomination. The cat was small and radiated airs and graces. Speckledclaw was doubtful of this decision, but then again, she barely knew this cat.
ooc She looks intense. -- The genius of Terry Pratchett uses her intensity to fuel some hilarious bits in his books though. :3 I take it you've never read Terry Pratchett?

ooc| "I take it you've never read Terry Pratchett?" --- Never.
So sorry for confusing y'all about all this. >< Now we have to wait on Bronzefoot. I think Gosh said she'd be back in early July; I'm not sure.
