"You are departing?" she asked, the answer obvious enough. "Ah, I see then. Good wishes to you, Bronzefoot, and may you fare well." Woodstripe dipped her head as he took his leave, then returned her green eyes to Frailheart.
"Forgive me if my words signify to you that this course of action would be easy. I propose no motion as to the level of difficulty, only that modifying an individual's patterns of behavior is within the range of possibility. What qualm have you now?" she inquired with a benign tilt of her head.

"So you propose to try to change some cats' way of life? Not those who hunt rats and crickets like nearly everyone else, but you think you can take away the way some cats live? There are some cats, Woodstripe, who steal instead of hunt, and not because they need to in order to live. Some cats steal for their own amusement, and it is those cats who might disrupt the Clan. What would you do with those cats, Woodstripe?" Frailheart challenged, knowing full well that they were crossing dangerous territory, so to speak.

"Of course I would like to improve cat's lives - and that requires change," Woodstripe answered. She knew Frailheart was challenging her. Despite that, she kept a pleasant facade, swiping her tongue over her shoulder in a relaxed and steady motion while not meeting the she-cat's gaze. "As for any cats who cause trouble, I would have them reformed."

"What if they refused to do so?" Frailheart meowed. "Be reformed, I mean." She frowned at the ground, thinking, 'Perhaps I shall go soon, too. No need to get familiar with anybody.' She then wondered where Woodstripe had gotten her way of talking. 'Hmm.'

Woodstripe chuckled. "A few mischievous troublemakers here and there would not cause too grand a problem for an entire Clan, strong in skill and number. I'm sure said cats would be somewhat reluctant to turn from their old habits, yes, but I would not allow obsolete ideology to persist. Would you say different?"

"You talk as though you would be the one leading the whole thing," Frailheart meowed, narrowing her eyes. "So you think that you, with your fancy talk and endless excuses, would be worthy to lead?" She scowled openly, and it was obvious that she was seething at the very thought. "And you say that these cats would be no match for the Clan. Why don't you look around and see how many cats would actually like to be in the Clan, and then see if that number is bigger than the cats who steal and their families - for I'm sure that their families wouldn't want their kin to be murdered."

Woodstripe looked her over with a calm expression. "I see you are an emotional one, Frailheart, befitting your name. Emotion is a powerful and driving force, though it can also create problems, as is evident from the elder's tales. Whether I am worthy to lead I leave up to majority's consensus," the tabby stated. "Now as for the cats who would not want to be in a Clan, I impore you reveal to me, what do they hold as their reasoning?"

Relaxing - if only a little bit - Frailheart meowed, "I do not claim to know the minds of other cats. However, I can speak for myself - I would rather not be told what to do in any way. And also," she added, "you have spoken in organized hunting groups. How would I help in such things? Surely the Clan would not let me sit around all day, yet I would be a nuisance if I tried to help or fight."

"And you would not be told what to do," Woodstripe assured her. "The Clan system I propose relies not on orders and commands but on collaborative thinking. You could be helpful in plans and strategies. Also keep in mind that muscle builds with nutrients and use. When provided with additional sustenance and given a chance to hone your skills, you could be worthy of a new name." Woodstripe beamed, thinking this would please the yellow tabby.

Frailheart scoffed. "Most plans for rat hunts are made while being carried out, are they not? This is because you can never be quite sure what the rat is going to do." She paused, thinking about the next sentences Woodstripe had said. "I was born frail, and I will die frail."
"You suggest that I would be worthy of a new name?" She shook her head. "My name describes me, and I don't see how that could change. You speak of giving me additional sustenance and a chance to 'hone my skills'. For one thing, that could possibly mean starving others to make me strong. I would not want that. And neither would the starving cats, I imagine. Also, I would do more harm than help if I were to go on rat hunts. The last time I fought was when I was a kit in training."
