"You look up to, or at least pretend to obey, authorities other than the main folks who raised you, right? For example, I'm in charge of this site, and does that mean I'm replacing your parents? Heck no. So what's this guy's problem with all other cats?" -- He does not want to follow the rules of another, not even his father, although he did.
"From what other ideas and experiences?" -- His own.

"He does not want to follow the rules of another, not even his father, although he did." -- What was his issue with his father? Why is he so anti-rules?
"His own." -- And they are...?

"What was his issue with his father? Why is he so anti-rules?" -- Icefang has a problem with power. He does not like to follow rules, instead, he does what he likes. But he listened and obeyed his father even though he really didn't want to because he loved his father.
"And they are...?" -- That ever cat should be able to take care of themselves and fend for themselves.

"Icefang has a problem with power. He does not like to follow rules," -- Why?
"That ever cat should be able to take care of themselves and fend for themselves." -- And his parents taught him that, right? Did his parents teach him that no one should ever be taught anything?

"Why?" -- It is his personality. He got it from his father who was like that too.
"And his parents taught him that, right? Did his parents teach him that no one should ever be taught anything?" -- His parents taught him that cats are not social creatures and must be able to fend for themselves, not that they should not be taught anything.

"He got it from his father who was like that too." -- So his father taught him to trust no other cat, like I asked before?
"His parents taught him that cats are not social creatures and must be able to fend for themselves," -- mmhm... Doesn't fending for yourself require knowing how to hunt?

"mmhm... Doesn't fending for yourself require knowing how to hunt?" -- Yes

"Yes" -- Then wouldn't he make that his first order of business?

"He wanted to teach himself how to hunt." -- Where did he get the idea that such a thing was possible?
