[mentor?] Amberkit Tries to Hunt

"'Kay, jus' makin' sure," she nodded, amusement in her tone, "so there's no need to get ya tail in a twist. An' ya did?" She paused for a moment. How could she have forgotten already? Then she remembered, though, and nodded again. "Oh, yah, I 'member now..."

She blinked a few times upon hearing his next statement, though. "Soo... whatta ya wan' me 'ta do 'bout that, kit?"

"Well you sees - I'm tired and so I can't be huntsing for myself when I'm tired, wight?"
Amberkit lifted his eyes hopefully, and hoped that he wasn't asking for too much. Then again, his statement might've just irritated the she-cat.

[moddy]

"Oh." The reply was simple, but it was still enough to say in her opinion. She glanced down at the kit and shrugged. "Right. So's I s'pose ya wan' me to hunt for ya, huh?"

"If you isn't too tired to," Amberkit said politely, but with a twinge of mischief in his voice. "I hope I isn't asking for too much ..."

He raised his large, kitten eyes at Gingerstream for emphasis. She had said before that this tactic didn't work on her, but Amberkit, being a kit, thus possessed only the attention span of a kit.

"I guess 'm not," the she-cat shrugged. "So, ya gonna jus' sit thur while I go and hun'?"

She got up and glanced around the area, trying to spot a lizard or two. Soon enough, one came into view and, instead of going after it, she decided to wait for Amberkit's answer.

"Nope! I'mma follow you and watch," Amberkit replied happily at the news that he might be eating again soon.

Then he spotted the lizard the she-cat was looking at and gave an excited yelp, jumping to his paws. "There's one! Quiiiick!"

[moddy]

"Oh, alright ki-"

Her mew was cut off when the kit had yelped. Dang, he really needed to be quiet. "Shhh!" She hissed at him. Her attention was soon brought back to the lizard, though, and then she brought herself into a crouch.

Crawling forward ever-so-gracefully(she does have stream in her name, after all xD), she pounced when she was close enough and landed with both front paws on the lizard. Of course, this whole dramatic display wasn't necessary, since it was just a lizard, after all, but she wanted it to seem special.

But, she really didn't need to do anything further, seeing that the lizard was already dead from her landing on it with all her weight. She pretended to bite it's neck in attempt to kill it, anyways, though and then turned around to look at Amberkit.

"Here, here, kit! It's dead!" She said this like she was the best thing ever.

Amberkit watched on in awe, absent-mindedly pressing his two front paws into the sand and having his hind feet dangling in the air. When he saw Gingerstream was triumphant, he popped onto his fours and started running circles around the she-cat.

"Tha'wassocoolIwannahuntlikethatsumdaylizardlizardlizard!"

He finally stopped and sat down, waiting to receive the lizard. His large kitten eyes were alight with glee.

Gingerstream watched as the kit ran around her, feeling quite dizzy as she did so. Dang, this kit was... hyper. She sort of felt bad for whoever had to take care of the thing.

Once he stopped, she shoved the lizard towards him. She barely understood what he had said, but she had heard enough of it to reply to it.

"If ya wanna hun' like 'dat, then maybe ya should get your mentor to teach ya," she finally mewed, nodding.

Amberkit was already in mid-chomp when Gingerstream asked him the question. He looked up, the lizard in his mouth, pausing decisively. The kit decided to finish his lizard first.

So quickly, he chewed and chewed, then swallowed, and said, "I have no mentor."
