"Rat?" Amberkit mewed, puzzled. Then light dawned on him. "You tackled me, silly!" he said, laughing at Copperfur. "Rats aren't-" He paused to check his fur colour. "-orange like me!"
Copperfur's second statement confused him. "Then where's my lizard?" he pursued, and turned to Bronzefoot. "Do you have my lizard?"

Bronzefoot shook his head. "I've had my fill for today, or at least an adequate amount of food. There's no reason why I would be lowly enough to take your lizard. So, no." He stifled a chuckle; he had forgotten how amusing kits were.

Copperfur let out a disgruntled sigh and closed his eyes briefly, attempting to control his irrational anger towards the kit. Obviously he knew rats weren't orange; he had simply ignored that bit of logic in favor of the hope that it would be a rat, or something larger. Hunger tended to do that to a cat.
Since he now had no reason to hang around any longer, the orange tom took a paw-step back, narrowing his eyes. "Well, since there's obviously no rat or food about, I suppose I'll be off."
Somewhere, in the very, very back of his mind, he was half-hoping one of the cats would say something to keep him there. Of course, he didn't really know that. It was subconscious.

>>ooc 'cuz i just figured that this role play needs an insane kitty. ;x
>>bic "Hmm?"
The ginger she-cat turned upon hearing voices. As far as she could tell, they were all toms. She didn't have a problem with that, of course. If her son, Smudgeheart, were to be here, though, she'd be quickly steered away from them. Luckily, though, he wasn't.
Her ears pricked; she had always found the conversations of toms interesting. They were so... what was the word? Cocky? No, no. Not necessarily cocky; though all the toms she knew had a lot of pride.
Oh, yes! Amusing. That was the correct word. They were amusing. Very much so, in this she-cat's opinion. Apparently, they were talking about some lizard or another. Well, it just so happens that she had infact caught her own lizard just a few moments ago.
"I would think that these clumsy toms had gone and scared the lizard away. Isn't that right...." she glanced over at Bronzefoot and hesitated. She had met him not too long ago, but she had already forgotten his name. She'd never had an extra special memory.
"Isn't that right, Bronzeytoes?" She asked, taking a guess at his name. "You toms scared it away with your clumsy selves. You and-" she glanced over at Copperfur, "what's-his-name!" She concluded.
She let her gaze travel back over to the kit and she nodded again. "I bet that's what happened! They scared 'et away!" She repeated, nodding some more. "It's probably out of this dang'ed place by now! It's probably free and roaming all over d'place!" She purred at her own knowledge; it might not have been true, but that didn't mean she couldn't be proud of herself.
And because of all this thinking, the she-cat had completely forgotten that she had her own dead lizard laying on the ground in front of her. She didn't really care, either. She was just glad that she could be helpy-ful, as she would say.

Bronzefoot growled. "My name is not Bronzeytoes. It's Bronzefoot." He spat. 'How dare she make fun of my name?' he thought in rage. Being occupied with scowling at her, he almost didn't notice the dead lizard laying at her feet.
'Now what's this?' he thought to himself. He had to hold back a laugh. 'Now that was a stupid move. If she was going to steal his lizard and then tell him that we scared it away, she should have at least hidden it first.' After a moment, he realized it could be to his benefit to point this out to the kit. This could get him on the kit's good side.
"Well, what's that down on the ground by your paws, then?" he asked innocently.

The copper tom flicked his ears angrily at the substitution this new she-cat had used rather than his name, finding it rude to not even ask for it before continuing her comment. He wasn't one to mew, however. He had the worst manners possible, even out of a bunch of cats who lived in a giant wood enclosure.
That meant they were pretty bad.
Hearing Bronzefoot's comment (this was why he didn't ask for cat's names; he almost always found them out in context), the tom turned to look towards the she-cat's paws and, sure enough, there was a dead lizard lying right there. It was pretty low to steal a kit's prey, in his opinion, but, hey. His opinion wasn't worth much.

Amberkit's ears perked, forming two exactly shaped triangles, at the she-cat's arrival. He listened to her speak, frowning slightly.
"My dad said it's not good to call people bad things," he said, hearing the word repeated several times as the she-cat spoke, glancing at the two other toms. "And anyways, my lizard couldn't of run 'way. I squished it," he told the she-cat proudly, "I was eat'n it, and it wasn't wriggling-" At that moment, he too saw the dead lizard between the she-cat's paws, and mewed angrily, right after hearing Bronzefoot's words, "You stole my lizard!"
The furious little kit sat down beside Bronzefoot, feeling that the tom was the nicest of the lot. He was silent for a bit, as he thought. Then he said to the she-cat, "Since you took my lizard, you hafta catch me a new one!"

"There's no need to get mad, Bronzeytoes! I was just takin' a guess or whatever you cats call 'et!" She coughed and glanced down at the lizard. "Oh, this thang 'ere? Well, I caught this thang just a moment or two ago! This is mah prey!" She pointed out, nodding.
"Kit, I ain't use any bad words yet! Just tell me whut bad words I spoke! 'Cuz I don't know any...." she trailed off as she heard the anger in the kit's voice; honestly, she didn't understand why all these cats were in an outrage 'bout a stupid 'ol lizard!
"Whut? No, I ain't steal no lizard! This is mah own lizard! I caught it, like I said before! You say that yours was dead, but minr was alive when I caught it! I betcha one of 'dem toms gobbled it up when you weren't lookin'! Trust me, I know these thangs!" She nodded, trying to look as innocent as she could. Really, this she-cat wasn't known as innocent. She had gotten herself into lots of trouble before, but she didn't know if these cats knew this or not.
"Look at 'dis cat 'ere," she glanced over at Copperfur, "atleast he ain't getting his tail in a twist over a 'dum 'ol lizard-y! This whole conversation is 'dum! I didn't steal no lizard and I won't 'eva steal no lizard from no kit!" She said honestly. She could be low, but she wasn't low enough to steal from no kit!

Bronzefoot raised his eyebrows. "This little one had caught his own lizard before all this happened. Now it is gone, you are here, and you have a dead lizard at your feet. I'm not accusing you, but who's the prime suspect?" He paused, then added, "It may seem like no big deal to you, but that lizard may have been all this little kit was going to get to eat today." As one last afterthought, he meowed, "I do see shame in taking food from a kit, though. So perhaps someone else took it." Distrusting as he was, the she-cat didn't seem to be under-fed enough to do such a lowly act.

Copperfur bristled at this; he did not take this kit's prey, and he was not going to stand for Bronzefoot accusing him of such.
"Excuse me, I'm not such a failure as a hunter that I would need to take a kit's prey." he spat, glaring at the other tom. "You seem eager to pass the blame around, but no cat's accusing you of stealing the lizard." he added, narrowing his eyes further.
