Role player| Steph
_____
Name| Russetheart
Gender| She-cat
Physical Description| Russetheart is an average-sized cat. Her fur is light brown with ticked tabby markings. She isn't a particularly small cat, but she is thin and agile. Russetheart has light green eyes that always seem to have a warm and friendly glow to them. Her fur is relatively short, but still manages to get ruffled up and messy looking during the day. However, Russetheart tries to clean her fur whenever she has some free time, to minimize the dirty look of it.
Views| Unlike her parents, Russetheart is a firm believer that there should be some form of authority--she is definitely a Clanner. She feels like life in the enclosure would be much easier with a leader. Russetheart enjoys organization, so it isn't surprising that she feels this way. When Russetheart discovered that she wanted to be a Clanner, she didn't take that decision lightly. Her view on the matter is absolutely set in stone, and she strongly dislikes those who try to change her mind. Russetheart will tolerate cons to a point, but if they take a jab at her views she will spring into a battle of wits without hesitation. She is very stubborn, and she is quick to defend her views as a Clanner.
Russetheart is mildly embarrassed about the fact that she was too kind to initially tell her parents about the fact that she was no longer a con, and she uses her stubborn side as a shield. Now, she sees her past kindness more as cowardice and disloyalty to her cause. In a rebellious way, she is letting everyone know that she has chosen a side, and is ready to stick to it. Since her parents were such strong cons, she was daring to go against them and form her own opinions. This was something that was considered quick shocking and very rebellious to her mother and father. Her one-sidedness started out being restricted to fights against cons, but as she continued getting in verbal fights, she became more stubborn and one-sided in all aspects of her life.
Russetheart is quick to take control over a situation, but not in a bossy sort of way. She automatically knows how to get everyone together and organized without injuring any feelings. She gives off the exact kind of friendly yet wise vibe that lets others know that she knows what she's doing, and they can follow her without feeling shafted. Even with these obvious leader qualities, Russetheart doesn't think she could handle it, and prefers following other Clanners.
Kin| Mother-Pebblestorm
Father-Harepelt (deceased)
History| Russetheart was born to two parents who strongly believed that there shouldn't be a Clan. They were completely on the con side of things, and tried to teach Russetheart that from a very young age.
Before Pebblestorm allowed Russetheart to venture out by herself, she forbade her daughter from speaking to Clanners. However, Russetheart noticed that her mother often spoke to Clanners for the fun of yelling at them, and she ignored that rule. Pebblestorm was unaware of the fact that her closest friends were Clanners until she'd already made up her mind to become one.
When Russetheart ventured out of her mother's constant watch for the first time, she became friendly with some of the other young cats living in the enclosure. The other cats were perfect strangers to Russetheart, but once her mother didn't have to constantly watch her, she stopped paying extreme attention to her, except for lessons. Russetheart was free to explore the enclosure during most of the day. From these cats and their parents, she learned that there was more than one opinion, and she realized that she agreed with all of the points made by Clanners. She began to form and finalize these opinions, finding that she disagreed with her parents' view.
Russetheart liked organization, and also having someone to depend on. Neither of her parents really gave her that. She didn't enjoy living with her parents. As a young kit, Russetheart didn't particularly care or have much of an opinion, but she soon realized how much she disliked the way that she lived. Pebblestorm was always pushing Russetheart to become her clone, so it was a little bit of a rebellious thing as well. She hated the fact that her mother was always trying to force her to form a certain opinion. When Russetheart ventured out and met other cats, she saw that they were given many more choices, and she envied them. Russetheart began questioning her daily life more, and realized that she really didn't like the way that she lived.
Pebblestorm was always pressuring Russetheart into being a con, even to a point where it was ridiculous. One day as Russetheart was eating a lizard she'd caught with some friends, Pebblestorm told her not to eat it, since her friends were Clanners. She told Russetheart that her meal was tainted by disgusting Clanners, and she'd better not turn out like one of them. Incidents like this happened far too much.
Pebblestorm was beginning to notice that Russetheart was spending less time with her parents and more time with the Clanner families, something that Pebblestorm disliked immensely. Pebblestorm became even more frustrated when she noticed how unhappy Russetheart seemed while with her family. One day, Pebblestorm was so furious that she threatened Russetheart by saying that if she ever dared become a Clanner, she would never speak to her again. Although Russethear had already made up her mind to become a Clanner, she was too kind and afraid to speak up, and she certainly didn't want to cause trouble between herself and her parents.
As she started training with her mother, Russetheart flew by each lesson. Secretly, she thought that every skill she learned would be able to contribute to creating a Clan. Russetheart especially loved fighting, and she was very skilled when she practiced battling her mother.
One day, Russetheart's father Harestep got into a huge fight with a tom named Dustfur. It was a small squabble at first, but it ended up becoming something much worse. The two cats fought each other viciously, and Harestep was killed. Russetheart has disliked fighting since then, although she'll fight if it's necessary. If her life or one of her friend's lives is in danger, or if she needs to stand up to a cat who is terrorizing others, she isn't afraid to do so. If she notices that one of her friends is constantly being teased and hurt by the same cat, Russetheart will immediately take a stand and fight for her friend, but she isn't irrational.
After Harestep's death, Russetheart was emotionally recovering for a while. She finally made the difficult decision to tell her mother Pebblestorm how she felt about making a Clan. Pebblestorm was absolutely furious. She refused to talk to her daughter for a long time, and eventually cut her training short, giving her her full name before she was truly ready.
Russetheart was young and scared, and she now had nobody. Her mother had isolated her from the other cats her age, and she hadn't finished learning. Eventually, Russetheart made new friends and taught herself many valuable life lessons.
Russetheart has developed and grown in many ways. Russetheart has been by a dying elder's side to comfort them in their last moments, although she barely knew the cat. The elder, a blind she-cat named Patchfoot, had lost her entire family, and Russetheart took pity on the dying cat, and sat by her until the end. She loves to play a large game of tag with a group of riled up kits if she sees them and her patience with them is rarely seen in other cats. It doesn't matter who the kits are--she's always ready to play, simply because she loves kits so much.
However, Russetheart isn't perfect. Growing up the the way she has, Russetheart is often very one-sided and stubborn on things. Unsurprisingly, being a Clanner is one of them. Although she isn't quick to get into a physical fight, she will easily verbally fight other cats, and she secretly enjoys a good debate. Mostly these fights are with cons, but they can be around other issues as well. Russetheart has fought over something as unimportant as where the best sleeping place in the enclosure is.
