mm... Grimykit'd be liable to throw in some extra notes of contempt in there, like "this stoned ol' box we in", but him just calling it "the box" sounds strange, like some mod cafe with weird furniture.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I just can't picture Grimykit saying refuge, residence, shelter, structure, etc.

Box sounds really strange to me, like it implies the enclosure is a kind of cube or something. Majority seems to like it, though.

I dislike...
Pyramid... it just doesn't give me the right image.
Sty... just sounds bizarre. It comes from the term 'Pig sty' and I'm pretty sure these cats have never seen pigs.
Setup - Just doesn't fit.
Hutch? - Too rabbitty.
Strangely, I like the terms Container and chamber... if I had a character here, I might well have used them. But they're already gone XD
