Skin?

Ookay. So it's been... months since I made this skin that we have now. And months later, I want to have your input on it. After a while it just seems to get repetitive, coming back to the same thing (at least in my opinion), so I want to know if you think that's the case for you. Has it lost the freshness that it once held? What would you like improved?

You know how much I love your work, so I won't go over that again.

No, coming back to the same thing each day doesn't get old for me. I'm one of those creatures of habit (and I have a little story about that, but back on topic). That said, I do enjoy changes now and then. This skin hasn't lost any of its magnificent quality, but I'll concur that it's lost some of its "freshness", as you put it, since my eyes no longer widen in shocked amazement each time I come to the site.

I'm not sure what to suggest for improvement, though... Perhaps (but just perhaps, as I'm not sure if I'd like this or not) a smaller main banner would be good. That way you wouldn't have to scroll as much to get to the boards.

I understand what you mean. Normally on sites I run I have to change the skin every month or so or it starts to bother me. I guess I'm just one of those people with short interests towards my graphics. However, I guess it's less of a hassle to not have to do that every time.

Well, the size that I normally use is 700 x 400. I'll try and shrink it, but I can't make it any less than 700 pixels in width. If I do then the image will be less, however the space will still be 700 pixels to keep the sub-boards in line. Too small heightwise and it'll just look off.

I was talking about height, of course. mm... I understand what you're saying, though I've seen sites like Second Storm with short banners. Then again, its descendant looks much better.

A shorter banner sounds great. Every time I come here all I see at first is that huge picture (awesome, but huge.)

Okay. New skin. One that took a lot of brainstorming and at least 5 hours of editing once I showed it to Ten, lol. But that's just the way that it works, eh?

Okay... discuss the new skin here! If you have any questions about it (such as how I did anything/where I got anything) I should be able to answer unless I've completely forgotten. Also, if you see any bugs in the skin/code mess ups please inform me here. I'm trying to improve the site and all that.

The symbol in front of a board doesn't change much when there is something new in that board. Could you maybe use a different shade of blue?
