Shadowkit thought for a second. She had tried to find her brother, but was fairly sure that he was dead. And then... "W-will you be my m-mentor?"

Shadowkit was a clanner, but she was also too young to care about another cat's beliefs. She liked the idea that every cat got mentored and fed, but if this cat disagreed, who was she to care?
As a result of this indifference, Shadowkit could hardly contain her excitement. "D-do we start r-right now? D-do you change m-my name?" she asked quickly.
OOC>> How do you portray a cat's voice slowly changing over a long period of time?

"If you want," Beetlepaw said. "Hm.. I don't exactly know how the whole ceremony goes since I don't try and figure out stuff like that every day like the cricket-brained Clanners, but I can just figure something out." She paused, thinking of what to say. It didn't take her long, though, since she didn't intend on making it fancy. "From now on, your name is no longer Shadowkit! Now.. Until you reach the level of being a warrior or whatever, your new name will be Shadowpaw!" She nodded, quite proud of herself. "How's that?"

"G-great!" Shadowpaw mewed excitedly. This had to be the best moment of her life! She could begin her training to become a warrior, and hunt as well as all the other cats!
