Shadowkit looked at the lizard. Although most cats would say things like "too small" and "wouldn't feed a cricket," it looked very appetizing to her. So she ran at it, and it ran too.
She was closing in on it! Just a little closer... and she pounced, missing it as it darted into a hole in the wall, leaving her to smash into solid rock.

Upon seeing the younger cat trying to catch the lizard, the scrawny, brown tabby let out a snort of amusement. She sat down and watched, wrapping her thin tail around her paws. As soon as she saw the kit crash into the wall, she decided that it was too much to watch and decided to give the younger cat a few pointers.
"You're doing it all wrong,"
she said bluntly, the tip of her tail twitching as she stared over at the kit with amused amber eyes.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ooc. oh, i know it sucks, but i need to get active again! 3:

Shadowkit looked up, surprised to see a brown cat looking back at her. "H-how do you d-do it?" she asked. Maybe this cat who would give her prey or even teach her to hunt.
OOC>> Mine was worse. -corrects-

"The right way,"
she said, her voice filled with dry sarcasm. "You do it the right way." Standing up, she began padding closer to the young cat and then sat right back down. "You're supposed to do it like a hunting cat, but the way you do it made you seem more like a clumsy rat," she said, not really caring if some rats weren't clumsy; she thought they were, at least, and that's what mattered to her. "I suppose I could show you how to do it right, though," she said as if it would be a big waste of time for the tabby to do such a thing, yet the kit should have been grateful that she was even offering it, "so watch." Dropping into a crouch, she waited until she saw another lizard nearby. She crept up on it ever-so-slowly and then pounced as soon as she saw she was close enough. She landed with two paws on the lizard and didn't find it necessary to bite it or anything, since the impact of the much larger cat falling on it had killed it, anyways. "See?" Beetlepaw called back to the she-kit with a satisfied gleam in her eyes. She hadn't considered taking it slow to instruct her on what exactly to do, since when she was an apprentice, she had learned easily by just watching - that had been an advantage of hers over certain others and she was quite glad that she had obtained it.[/blockquote][/blockquote]ooc. aww, yours wasn't bad, either. cx

"O-okay," Shadowkit said nervously. She looked around until she finally found a lizard. It looked good, so she padded up to it slowly, her tail dragging in the sand. The lizard heard her and ran away. She looked back up at the brown tabby as if expecting her to point out her mistake.

"Don't drag your tail!"
Beetlepaw snapped as soon as she saw the lizard run away. "It's easier for it to hear you that way.." She then shrugged it off, deciding that it wasn't worth it to snap at the kit for a mistake - it was obvious that the dark-colored she-cat hadn't been trained before, so it wasn't exactly her fault that she didn't know how to hunt, now was it? "Anyways," she continued, licking her chest fur and then pausing to speak, "you can just have this one for now, if you want it. I'm not going to eat it and it's a shame to see a good piece of prey go to waste.." Normally, Beetlepaw didn't share prey with anyone, but she felt bad for the younger cat, since she obviously was by herself.. She cleared her throat(i'm assuming since they can talk here, that they can clear their throats, too? correct me if i'm wrong!) and said, "Ahem.. Well, I'm Beetlepaw.. What about you?"[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Nice to meet you, Shadowkit,"
she nodded and then raised an eyebrow as she watched the kit eat the lizard. "Don't you have a mentor or whatever it is those Clanners call it nowadays?"[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Ah,"
Beetlepaw nodded. "Well, have you ever thought about looking for your brother? Or finding a mentor or something so you wouldn't be alone?"[/blockquote][/blockquote]
