"Well, why would a cat be stealing in the first place is there was a fresh-kill pile? Such an act of thievery would be unreasonable, wouldn't it? Which is why thievery would be a punishable offence.
"Also, I believe - and please excuse me, the more experienced warriors, if I am wrong in saying so - that at times prey can have some kind of meaning to the hunter or hunters, as much effort is required in hunting and perhaps it would be more comfortable for some cats to eat what they themselves have retrieved."
Redstream turned to Dingypaw. "Well, it all depends on the situation," she replied, thoughtfully. "if a cat was bold enough to steal from a fresh-kill pile belonging to an entire Clan, the matter would certainly be worth looking in to and discussing - no punishment would be dealt without first discussing the crime. If such a cat was so hungry that they had to take from a Clan, I'm sure they might even consider joining the Clan itself, for food supplies and company."

Patchfur narrowed his eyes at Redstream's last comment. Sure, they might be hungry, but the Cons he knew would rather steal from Clans than join them. Asking them if they wanted to join the Clan would be stupid. It would only make them angrier. "What about Cons?" Patchfur asked. "Surely they'd eventually plan some sort of rebellion. What would you do then?"

"Cons? Cats who don't like leaders?" Redstream repeated, surprised. And she wasn't the only one. Orangestorm was perked and feeling slightly worried by now. He stared at Patchfur, ruling him out as effective for the Rebellion. He had better think of something else to say to divert all of them from this dangerous topic.
"A rebellion would definitely pose a tricky situation," Redstream replied finally, choosing her words carefully. Rebellions were a subject she had never considered, but she couldn't deny that it was certainly possible.
"It all depends on what the rebellion might do, really. And all of that depends on the nature of the cats running it. When you talk about rebellions, anything might be possible. Could I ask you to be a bit more specific?" she prompted.

Ooc: I thought cons /were/ Anti-Clanners.
"No, I'm talking about anti-clanners that might pose a threat to the Clan. I don't like leaders, but I'll still join a Clan. However, those who are opposed to the idea of a Clan forming might try to attack it," Patchfur replied. "Of course, not all Anti-Clanners would do something like this, but I'm pretty sure some of them will."

OOC>> Cons are anti-clanners. Ten has said that the term "anti-clanners" is only for the stats table.
"Cons might be opposed to a clan because of a clan holding territory, therefore giving them less room to hunt, or maybe they would be afraid that we would try to eliminate all cats that do not belong to the clan," Rockpelt meowed. "What would you do about each of these problems?" He was asking all the cats campaigning, and no cat in specific.

ooc Uwaaaaa. o.o I must've been half-asleep when I posted that. -headdesk- We'll just assume Redstream misinterpreted its meaning, but I'll have to remove what Speckledclaw said. Also Brain, you need a minimum of three sentences in a post. Yours only has two.
bic "In such a case I would seek to reason or discuss about such issues with the cons themselves, with the opinion of the Clan," Redstream replied. "It is possible for some sort of agreement to be reached. Leaders must always try to seek peaceful means of solving problems first, before taking further action."

Patchfur was impressed. He'd assumed that the two cats, being such avid Clanners, would have said something along the lines of attacking the Cons. It seemed like Redstream, at least, was capable of accepting that some cats didn't want a Clan without getting angry. "Would you hunt as well? Or would the Warriors be the only ones that hunted," Patchfur asked.

"Personally, I think everyone should hunt, though warriors would be given the task of doing so," Redstream meowed, aware that she was doing quite well in her campaign. "Warriors would probably hunt more than any other cat in the Clan." She paused to groom her ears.
Orangestorm watched with narrowed yellowy-green eyes. Redstream was doing much better than he thought. However, since they had steered away from the dangerous topic of rebellions, Orangestorm began to laze. How long more would the voting take? And why didn't Bronzefoot respond half as often as the she-cats did? He began to stretch, feeling dregs of sleep surfacing inside him.

"An' lookie 'ere, a whole parteh' of kitties waitin' to greet their future leada'." A stocky gray tom smirked as he eavesdropped on their conversation. He only managed to catch snippets of their words, but it was enough to let him know that these were all Clanners. So Dullpaw sauntered toward the group, staying a couple fox-lengths away to admire the bunch. With some 'smooth-talkin' and plenty of his regular charm, in a matter of minutes they would all be under his power.
"Those two ladies got no idea of what they're talkin' 'bout. Everyone's gotta hunt for their leada' first, dum dums, and respect for the dead guys?! Ya gotta be kiddin' me, yessiree." His lofty voice was not very loud, but anyone within a few feet away could easily make out what he was saying.

Patchfur frowned. Now here was a response he didn't like. "Why would the Warriors hunt more than you?" he asked, his voice a little less friendly. This was why he didn't want a leader- they thought they were too good to do simple chores like hunt. If that wasn't why, then he would love to hear the real reason.
