So my family was in the car and Dad was talking about the greed of corrupt politicians. He used the phrase "greasing their palms". This made me think of the scene in Julius Caesar where Brutus calls Cassius an "itching palm". I told them I had first thought he meant the tree, not the hand.
My mom replied with something like, "Well, to grease someone's palm is to give them money."
"That's not a Shakespearian term, though."
"Yeah... but they could put olive oil on their palm. Then that's Greece-ing their palm."
"...Mom. Julius Caesar didn't live in Greece."
