"sand as a suffix since they control what happens in the desert" -- The leader wouldn't have a sand or act sandy. They don't know about any other biomes, either, so sand and being in a desert hold no more significance to them than having fingernails does for you.

How about... -stone? The enclosure is made of stone and wood, so the suffix would show power over what happens in the enclosure.
