Shortwhisker cleared his throat. "W-well, there are g-good sides and b-b-bad sides to k-keeping elders a-alive, but k-kits are m-more imp-portant. They'll g-grow up to be w-warriors. Anyway, I b-bet I know a l-lot m-more about C-Clans than you d-do."

"Excuse me?" she meowed quietly. "I have been alive much longer than you have and have been supporting Clans since I was an apprentice. That's many seasons longer than you. I know much about Clans, and I know that they were kind enough to not condemn their old cats to death. Not only do they not recieve wise counsel, but don't you think it's inhumane?" she asked, hoping the black and white tom had a heart hidden somewhere. "And besides, if you were an elder, you wouldn't be saying these things. You'd be on my side. But you know what," she added, "I don't like arguing with other supporters. We should be allied, helping other cats see sense."

"I d-don't care h-how old y-you are. I've b-been supporting C-Clanhood since I w-was b-born. Bes-sides, the o-only reason I s-said anything w-was b-because you made it s-sound like you h-had more imp-portant stuff to do th-than stay in your p-place. Yes, y-you're an elder, and you d-deserve what y-you deserve, but you d-don't get to w-walk around g-getting in cats' w-way."

Batkit's whiskers bristled with delight when the elderly she-cat spoke to him. But he was no 'kitten'. "I'm Batkit," he meowed. "I'm joinin' too. Woodstripe invited me." He puffed out his small chest after a moment as he listened to the tuxedo tom's and the old she-cat's snappy exchanges. "And I was the first one to join, 'cause Woodstripe'll make a good leader." He obviously hadn't heard that the brown tabby wouldn't be the leader of the new Clan.

Dingypaw nodded. "True. I guess what you're saying makes sense, Shortwhisker. As long as you don't wish for my death anymore, I'm fine. So, who do you want to be leader? I agree with Batkit- Woodstripe is calm, intelligent, and compassionate, all the qualities needed to be a good, kind leader," she meowed, eager to change the subject to something she hoped they would agree on.

Fadedpelt just then seemed to notice Dingypaw and blinked, tilting her head to the side. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't introduce myself to you, did I? I'm Fadedpelt." Smooth, Fadedpelt. Go ahead and overlook the other cat. Great way to make friends.
"Anyway." She turned her attention back to Woodstripe. "I think it sounds like an interesting proposal. I wouldn't mind joining in," she meowed, her eyes sparkling slightly with only a hint of the seething ambition beneath them. This was the perfect opportunity to make herself known.

"I'm Dingypaw, and I'm quite glad that you've decided to join," she meowed, dipping her head politely to the she-cat.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Patchfur meowed. "Are you crazy?" he yowled at the old she-cat. "Youve been brainwashed! How can you honestly think this is a good idea?! They're going to control our lives here!"
Dingypaw glared at him, her voice icy-cold when she spoke. "I have seen much more than you have, and I believe I know better. If, in fact, the leader is corrupt, it will be he/she against the other cats. One cat cannot defeat so many. And I refused to be talked to in such a disrepectful way."

Spiderpaw sighed irritably. "Patchfur. Every cat holding this discussion is a Clanner, including you, or at least you label yourself that way. Yet you act like a con. You screech disrespectfully at our elder here. Honestly. I think you need to control your anger."

Dingypaw nodded. "I agree with her, but at the same time, I know that your anger means that you will be a good warrior. I think you know what's right and wrong, and don't want to change. Well, let me tell you, a Clan would be much better for all the cats in here."
"A Clan, yes," agreed Patchfur. "A leader, no."

ooc| Try not to interact with yourself too much, Ducky. You've done well so far. However, I suggest having one of them storm off if the situation gets sticky.

Woodstripe was flattered upon receiving Batkit and Dingypaw's approval but brushed it aside, mewing, "Thank you both, although -" "Sh-she'd make an a-awful leader," Shortwhisker butted in. "She i-isn't firm or c-commanding enough. She w-wouldn't be a-able to m-make cats listen t-to her or k-keep anyone i-in line."
Woodstripe had been long aware of his disapproval of her and ignored everything he said. "I welcome you into the experiment, Dingypaw and Fadedpelt," she chimed, dipping her head.
