A few Clarifications, por favor?

Hello thur. I've been looking to get back into roleplaying lately, and I just keep coming back to this site. (I've be stalking you ) The Warriors-based idea, without all the Clan technicalities, intrigues me. I'm fairly confident that I'm interested in joining, but I am also a bit worried as it's been awhile since I have actively taken part in a roleplay, and am slightly concerned that my posting abilities may not be up to par. So I may give it a shot, and if I (or anyone else, for that matter) feels like I'm not a positive addition, I'd be more than happy to just sit back and watch.

Introductory matters aside, I have a few questions, mostly regarding character creation. I'm not going to challenge any of the specific details of the plot and such that may not make 100% sense to me, as I understand that in order for the roleplay to work the way it does, the cats have to believe certain things, such as their belief that the outside world is non-existent.

Well, first of all, I was curious what general amount of the population believed that there once was a Clan, and how common the belief that there once was a RiverClan is among the kittehs. If the story of RiverClan is not supported by the cats, then do they believe that there never was a Clan, and that the proposition of the formation of a Clan is an entirely new idea? I know that StarClan became a "taboo" subject, so to speak, and so the belief wasn't passed down, but what about general Clan information?

Also, what colors are acceptable? I know that there are the special colors that can be purchased with Lizardtails, but what colors would be acceptable for a newcomer?

Lastly, how many cats are in on the belief of religion, or have some form of hope for something more beyond their trapped lives? Are the majority of the cats accepting of their predicament, or do they live lives of misery? I understand this may vary cat to cat, but I'm just asking about the general population. I'd like to create a cat on the underdog's side, to make things more interesting, if that's okay.

Nobody's going to kick you out, silly. While it's true that long posts are welcome, don't feel pressured to dazzle anyone. I'm sure you can manage three sentences a post. In the end, the important thing is to have fun with this. If you get a detail wrong, another scribe might notify you, but then you just fix it and that's that; no sweat.

At the moment, the only character I can think of whose beliefs specify he doesn't believe in RiverClan would be Bronzefoot. Most cats believe the history that's been handed down.

For cats who believe that, yes, I guess that's what it'd have to be.

Clan information is well-known. Most cats understand that the hierarchy would include a leader and deputy, along with classifications of kits, apprentices, warriors, queens, and elders. Some cats have even mentioned medicine cats, although not much is known about herbs/plants.

For solid coats, there's black, white, and gray.
For tabbies, there's brown, gray, and ginger.
Mackerel tabbies and ticked tabbies can be made for free.
Any of these coat types can have white markings (although it'd be pointless to say that a white cat has white markings...).

Only just recently has a religious cat been accepted, and he's intending to start a religious movement by converting followers. Until now, bios haven't said anything about religion, so it's safe to assume characters have no opinions on the subject because they've never thought about it. You're more than welcome to make a spiritual cat if you want. However, rather than making something up yourself, it might be more fun to let your character become converted during the course of role play.

Due to the circumstances of hardship, some characters can get depressed, but overall life in the enclosure is what they're used to.

Sounds great. At the moment, I think our ratio puts us at having fewer cons than Clanners.

This site was founded with the aim to take the writers involved beyond the simplistic outlook common in most Warriors plots and get folks to think hard about how characters would act in circumstances so different from what we know. It's supposed to be a challenge. I'm so grateful for all the praise it has received, and I hope you love it here.

OH. This clears up a lot, then. I was under the incorrect impression most of the cats did not believe the story, from something I had read. I looked back, and realized I had just misinterpreted it. Sorry.

I'm feeling pressured now. Hehe. Yes, it is way more intellectually challenging than an average Warriors plot. I tend to find Warriors roleplays to be extremely repetitive. This one just blows my mind. I'm excited to get started! Thank you so much for clarifying everything. It makes much more sense now.

I think it's almost even, but don't worry about that one. Just make a cat of whichever gender you want to use. We're not the sort of site who puts a ban on females just so that existing members can get mates for our characters to hook up with.

I started out with two, so it is possible. Most scribes start out with one. You can post two bios and work on them both, but you might want to focus on developing one first.
