What to do about Modd

Normally, I just delete inactive members. Irae, one of our several new scribes (festoon them with flowers and confetti!), has a character for whom she wants to use the prefix Grey. Modd was the creator and role player of Greykit, but if I delete her account, Grey will be back on the table again.

The thing is, what about Beetlepaw? She's an important character for the Rebellion (more on that later). I think it'd be a little odd to do the normal thing of wiping her off the face of role play as if nothing happened, so I'm posing this question to Darky, Cloud, and anyone else who was involved in that mini-plot. Should Beetlepaw get a death scene? Or does someone want to adopt her?

It's very hard for me to consider the option of adopting someone else's character because Beetlepaw was/is an amazing cat and Modd is the one who made her amazing. It's idealistic, but I would like to try for one more shot at getting Modd back before we pull anything.

So I think I'd go with a death scene, much as it pains me to suggest it. It would make things smoother and open up opportunities for conflict and character development in-roleplay.

I've kept her account so far, still not ready to delete it. This is summer, after all. She could be on vacation, someplace with lots of family and not so much wireless access. As long as she's okay, though, I'd think she'd have had time to tell us if she were going anywhere. Well, anyway, I sent out the mass email sometime about May 31st, I think. It's been a couple weeks.

If we have to resort to a death, it would present the Rebellion cats with an issue, echoing the larger theme. Should they get another leader? Do they need a leader at all? Or should the cats disband and abandon their goal as the Clanners come ever closer to reaching theirs?

I'm afraid I'm going to give poor Frozenheart nightmares.

Well, this is my two cents.

I agree with Darky about the death scene; it would be a calamity for the cons and victory for the Clanners...unless someone vicious took Beetlepaw's place, which would be awesome. Or maybe the cons would actually decide to elect someone...mwahaha, I sense many possbilities.

I say we do kill off Beetlepaw, or at least make allusions to her death, and if Modd does come back, well...I'll be very happy to see her, but the show must go on.

I say we don't delete her account, but death...yeah.
