Character Development thread

Question, Utilise, Insight, Creativity, and Kabobs.

Otherwise known as Q.U.I.C.K, a silly acronym I made up after a minute's deliberation.

(yes, there really is a meaning to kabobs. wait and see.)

Question: Just ask your character muse simple, everyday questions like "Where do you like to hunt?" "What's your favorite prey?" 'What's your favorite memory?" It can be fascinating and useful - just let your imagination flow.

Utilise: How does your character use their life or skills, just for themselves or to benefit others? Are they a con or Clanner? You know why they are what they are, but what are their personal goals for either side?

Insight: What are their everyday thoughts, or ones in tight or embarrassing situations? Do they want love, adventure, a family? Do they want to redeem themselves somehow or do they owe a debt or loyalty to someone?

Creativity: Find the little quirks in their catty activities: Are they obsessed with making fresh-kill piles? Do they prefer lizard over rat? Are there certain insults and expressions they like using?

Kabobs: Think about how everything about them fits together, like pieces of meat on a stick. (lovely metaphor, I know) What are they really like, do they wear a mask? More than one mask? Who are they really?

Chit-Chat time with Darkfur:

Q: So, why are you so obsessed with the idea of multiple Clans?

A: Well, I like to give off the impression that I believe it would be best because everyone would be in smaller, more manageable groups and could make their own rules and not have to live closely with those they didn't want to.

But honestly, I'm into it because it means I could stick with whoever I wanted for as long as I wanted if they protect me and I spy on the other groups for them, and if they get sick of me, I can join another and offer them information from the Clan I just came from.

Plus, if they dissipate, at least cats will remember me. I need to be remembered. I don't want direct power - it only lasts for one lifetime anyway. But memories endure through the generations. My name would live on in stories...-coughs and looks away-

Chatter Minute with Pebbletail:

Q: Do you like sharing prey?

Only if it serves a purpose. If I owe someone I'd be willing to share prey with them once to pay them back, and another time if they were in need so they would live...to help me back, of course. I don't do freebies unless there's something in it for me.

Call me uncharitable, but that's how this world works. If you think this town operates on sunlight and laughs, cat, you are too messed up to bother with.

The one time I wouldn't use it purely as a bargaining chip would be to discuss plans over food with a Rebellion member. And of course to speculate about Clanners' weaknesses with Frozenheart, since he seems to have keen insights into their depravity.

Why are you looking at me like that? It's just because he's a Rebellion member. No, I do not like him! -growls and mutters under her breath- Of all the completely ridiculous and slightly true accusations...

Because I'm lazy, and because I actually semi-like this thread, I'm reminding you all that it exists. Attempt to care. XD
