I know I'll seem like I'm asking for pity. I'm not.
Yestderday was awesome.

So Mom and I were riding China and Amirra at this nice ranch that we stayed at this weekend. We came to a clearing and Mom suggested we speed up. So we did. Then Amirra (my horse) saw something scary in the tall grass and swerved. Let me tell you, when you have that much momentum going, it's hard to keep your balance.

I did a faceplant.

Amirra, being a good little Arabian, did her best not to trample me. In fact, she even stopped beside me and looked apologetic.

For a while I felt too crummy to move. It wasn't too bad, though. After I stood and established that I could walk, Mom rode Amirra back while I led China until Mom drove with Miss Joyce in a truck to come get me.

I didn't realize how bad I looked 'til I saw myself in the mirror.

So my face was covered in dirt. That was no big deal.
Then again, I still have a big beard of dark scabs all over my chin and a fat, bruised, swollen lip.

I look like zombie meets Bratz doll.

And of course all the people there were asking me how I felt and rubbing ointment on my face and lecturing me on the dangers of horses and telling me, "You took one /beep/ of a shot, kid. Yeah, you look like /beep/."

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I got bit by a ferret at the pet store yesterday.

But you know, y'all don't need to comfort me. I got plenty of that from all those old horse people. Well, they didn't say the nicest things, but they were trying. I didn't need it anyway.

There was once, while I was still tiny, when I attempted to walk across one bed to another with a bolster as a bridge. The bolster gave way of course. I fractured my arm that day. Ah, good times ... -bonked on the head-

It hurt like...crap, though.
I've only been exposed to ferrets that didn't bite. So I went into the pet store, ignored the bleeding girl by the counter, and looked at the ferrets. One in particular looked at me and rose on his two legs, so I picked him up to cuddle him. He sniffed my thumb, then chomped down.

Let's just say it was all I could do not to fling him off and slam him into the glass wall of their open-roof cage.

Yeah, apparently I ignored how the girl was talking about how one of the ferrets drew blood on her. Like it did to me.

And considerate of the jerk-face ferret's safety. I could have seriously injured him if I'd just flung him off into a wall! ;P

I had my hamster (His name is Ruffy) bite my finger hard enough to draw blood too.
D: I think he acquired a taste for it.
I was shaking my arm just because Ruffy just wouldn't let go, and when he fell back into his cage he bolted right into his tiny house.

So how did you get the ferret to stop biting you? Or did it just suddenly let go?
