ooc| What's the fire at the top?
Oh, and sorry, but the "Running around and chasing each other wildly" is one of Dingypaw's memories, right? /is easy to confuse

At first, Tinykit had been too busy nursing to take any notice of the approaching elder. When Dingypaw spoke, however, it startled him, and his gray fur stood on end as he turned and faced the stranger with blurry, fearful eyes. He wanted to ask his mother who this cat was, but he couldn't manage to speak.

Ooc: The sun. I was using my hatred of heat to write that paragraph. I have a lot of that. And yes. And no, you are not easy to confuse. You are too smart. And too ninja

Locustkit was just about to shove her way in between her two brothers when a stranger's voice stopped her. Oh, good. New cats were fun; at least, most of the time. And not that she had seen many others. Staring up at the elderly she-cat, she mewled, "I'z Locustkit! What are ya doin' heres?"

Blotchkit stared up at the elder curiously. She'd never seen this cat before. Then again, the only cats she ever saw were her mother and siblings, so it wasn't surprising. "Who're ya?" she asked bluntly, adding to her sister's question, since she was wanting to know that, too, as well as the question she asked.

Hailpaw had to admit she was surprised. She'd barely seen anyone since she had her kits, and only from a distance. And here was this nice elder. A small spurt of intelligence showed ittself in the she-cat in a question.
"Do ya know 'bout tha' Experi'men thingy, by any chance? And uh, yeah. Dey're alright, though. Right, kittens?" She looked at her daughters fondly.
"Dun I count?" grumbled her striped son as he extracted himself from his mother, looking at her with hurt in his blue eyes. "Ya love me too, right?"
"Of course I do, sonny."
Stonekit cared less about the arrival than he did about his mom loving him, though he did look over at her. He didn't understand much of what she'd said, though, or what his mom had said. He just wanted to be reassured of affection.

Tinykit glared at Stonekit. "Yehh?" He looked up at Hailpaw with a plaintive expression. "Whuddabout me? Love me more, mommy?"

"Actually, I'mma part of the Experiment myself. Ya thinkin' of joinin'? Might be a good idea, and I'm sure no one'll mind. Ya gotta ask Spiderstripe or Woodstripe though, Spiderstripe's the official leader but Woodstripe came up with the thing." Some unintelligible high-pitched mewling from three of the kits caught her attention, and with no little effort, turned to face the two she-kits first. "I'm Dingypaw," she meowed, not really having understood what they had said but guessing that an introduction would make the most sense. "What're your names?" She tilted her single remaining ear towards the she-kits, hoping she heard them right. Old ears tended to play tricks on cats.

The brown tabby was too busy staring avidly at her mother conversing with the stranger to notice her brothers' bickering. To Dingypaw question, she gave a little start before saying, "Uh, Locustkit. LO-CUST-KIT." A slightly puzzled expression rested on her face. Were all other cats half-deaf or something?

"Blotchkit!" the black-and-white kit mewed.
Overhearing the conversation, a white kit paused, looking over. Her brother, a grey kit, stopped beside her. "Huh, you hear that?" the she-kit whispered to him, narrowing her eyes as she looked back over at the group. "They're talkin' 'bout joinin' that.. Clanna' thing!"
Greykit blinked. "Well, 'dat's no good. Clannas' are dumb."
"Well, 'dem little kits dun know 'dat! Let's say sumfin'!" Whitekit said, heading over there, followed by her brother. Greykit plopped down, not planning to move any time soon. "Clans are dumb. Y'all shouldn't join no Clanna' group." Whitekit announced bluntly.
