I went to see The Phantom of the Opera today in the nosebleed section. =B I'd seen it several years ago (and considering how fuzzy my memories are I'm thinking it was before I had glasses) and I've seen the movie not long ago, but this is the first time I've seen the performance live and understood what people were saying and what was going on (the first time I saw it, I remember wondering why in the world Christine chose Raoul over Erik ). Tim Martin Gleason was excellent as a Rolo's style portrayal of Erik, acting confident at some parts but at others showing the tormented, self-loathing, lonely, broken man underneath (there were moments when he would tremble and his voice would waver and there was even that part where he was elbow-drag-stomach-crawling on the floor o-o x3 ). He made me sad. D= My eyes even watered. After the performance we bought the "highlights" CD (with different/the original singers) and while listening to it in the car, I remarked that they never cast very deep voices for the Phantom, which is strange because deep voices are so prevalent in villains and villainous-seeming characters (like Ego from Ratatouille, though I don't know if I should be comparing Pixar to musicals). I'm thinking it's because nobody really sees the Phantom as a villain, despite all he does. But still. Michael Crawford (the Phantom on the CD) has a voice has high as Cody's. It was amusing listening to him because sometimes Christine sang deeper than he did. Y'all have free rein to rant about whatever here. Or not? Anyway, yeah, I had a great time. <3 ...This is far more emoticons than I tend to use.

That's great, Ten. XD Be emoticon happy.
On a completely unrelated note, you had glasses in that dream of you I had. I am now wondering if you also have long brown hair.
On another random topic, cats make great pillows and lapwarmers.
I have fallen asleep on my cat. Only for a moment, but I have. I consider this a good thing.

I love emoticons! XD DX o3o I always picture Ten as a very tall, thin person with long, straight black hair, blue eyes, and wearing a very formal black suit. And holding a giant red pen. I had a weird dream about faries, but maybe it was because I read Artemis Fowl before I went to sleep.

Foolish Ducky, Ten is a short, cuddly hobbit with glasses. However, she dislikes that image of herself for some odd reason. She says no one takes hobbits seriously, but I doubt that. x3 To be honest, that's how I first imagined her too. But a hobbit fits her better. She hates to see me say that. I love emoticons too. 83 Artemis Fowl is awesome. He's a little like Ten, now that I think about it. 'Cept Ten isn't a criminal mastermind.....I don't think.

YAY this pwns.
I don't have much else to say about it ;P Cept, if he's a 'Rolo-style' Phantom, Tim Martin Gleason is probably my kinda phantom ;P
Not a PhantomxChristine shipper then? Those are pretty rare these days XD
Andd I love Crawford, but you seriously have to get used to him XD His voice improved later in the role.

"I am now wondering if you also have long brown hair." -- Amazing that you would guess that, because that kind of hair is so uncommon among white chicks.
"I always picture Ten as a very tall, thin person with long, straight black hair, blue eyes, and wearing a very formal black suit. And holding a giant red pen." -- I want to be this person.
"He's a little like Ten, now that I think about it." -- You say that about just about everyone who isn't a moronic spazz.
"Cept, if he's a 'Rolo-style' Phantom, Tim Martin Gleason is probably my kinda phantom" -- mmhm. I don't have experience in judging phantoms, but even though I couldn't see his face well, there was something about his one-moment-aggressive, one-moment-sheepish movements that really expressed his character.
No, not a PhantomxChristine shipper nowadays. It's cute (in a demented way) but it's not realistic or healthy. Erik has too many issues, and even though I don't like Raoul, I'm not going to support any woman's marriage to a murdering control freak. He needs a friend, not a wife.
"Those are pretty rare these days" -- For real? I thought PhantomxChristine was as popular as Zutara.
And don't get me wrong, Crawford's voice is great. But I saw what he looks like today and was like, "No. You do not look like your voice." He sounds like a scrawny nerd who's ashamed of his achne and thinks he's BA at Halo. He looks like a millionare pedophile (in his outfit/makeup, that is).
The name Crawford itself sounds like crawfish.
I like most of the Phantom's dialogue, but the maniacal laughing annoyed me after a while. And then there was this little exchange:
"Have you gorged yourself at last in your lust for blood? Am I now to be prey to your lust for flesh?"
"That fate which condemns me to wallow in blood has also denied me the joys of the flesh."
I paraphrase that as:
"Are you done killing people? Are you gonna force me to sleep with you now?"
"Well normally people don't want to because I'm ugly."
Way to give a straight answer and assure her she's safe. Yeah.
Then he starts talking about how the only reason she doesn't love him is his face and how sad it is to be ugly. Christine just sits there and decides against pointing out that his having murdered someone is also a big dissuasion.

"Amazing that you would guess that, because that kind of hair is so uncommon among white chicks."
D: Yes but. It was a dream. And we all know exactly how accurate dreams are, which is practically zilch.
"I want to be this person."
D: but you're so nice as you are.
"You say that about just about everyone who isn't a moronic spazz."
What, you dislike me complimenting people?
yay Phantom of the Opera. o3o

He is kind of Tennish.... Probably because he's serious and uses big words and sounds smart.
"I want to be this person." Don't worry, in my mind you are.
"Amazing that you would guess that, because that kind of hair is so uncommon among white chicks."
I know a lot of white chicks in my school that have long brown hair.
Just wondering...What do you think I look like?

"but you're so nice as you are." -- I mean I want to look like that. You don't know what I look like.
"What, you dislike me complimenting people?" -- Oh ha ha.
"yay Phantom of the Opera." -- Yus, this.
"He is kind of Tennish.... Probably because he's serious and uses big words and sounds smart." -- Y'all know that's not my entire personality, nor are those unique characteristics.
"Don't worry, in my mind you are." -- Excellent.
"I know a lot of white chicks in my school that have long brown hair." -- Yes, Ducky. That was sarcasm. x)
"Just wondering...What do you think I look like?" -- Voldemort with an orange mohawk.
"Medium height and muscular with...idk hair." -- Muscular? Oh, right, because she swims... athletic-looking, then... maybe short, brownish-blonde hair. I don't have much idea. I figure you can't look like a duck.
