OOC: Pebblestripe? I think you mean Pebbletail. Don't worry, I made that mistake a lot too. o3o
Pebbletail looked at the white con, amused. Clearly he was at least somewhat decent - if you could call a Clanner decent. Still, he had manners, and that was all too rare these days. It was true she was sometimes guilty of rudeness herself, but it was more that she was just blunt in general.
"Mm, true. Though it's much more complicated than that. I might even say that a Clan was a good idea, but the problem is that there is corruption in every cat. It's true that cats should be kinder to each other, but we can never force that, or if we do, it's wrong. True peace is not gained under laws and a leader, it is learned. In essence, it would lead to more fighting, or what's to stop cats rising in the Clan and turning on all the others, killing for their own benefit and power, I ask? Mm, nice meeting you too, I guess. You're not as stupid as most Clanners."

Rainstripe nodded, agreeing with Pebbletail's words. Maybe earlier she would've argued with the 'there is corruption in every cat' bit, but now she agreed completely. Since the Other had invaded her mind, she felt like she had been corrupted, like something dark and twisted had been created and was impossible to defeat.
"A-a Clan won-won't solve anything. I don't much l-like socializing or l-liv-living with other cats." Realizing that her voice was trembling, Rainstripe took a deep breath to steady herself, making sure when she spoke that each word was clear and calm. "If a Clan were to form, the cats who did not want to join would have a life even worse than the one we have now."

Pebbletail looked slightly disappointed, but oh well. If Rainstripe wanted to be left in peace, that was her choice. She'd wanted to see if the gray tabby was a Rebellion member, or knew about it, though. But she certainly couldn't ask in front of Whitewhisker.
"Ah, I see. Forgive my presumptuous offer. I simply wanted to...ask a question that may concern you."

"I never said I wouldn't talk to you," Rainstripe meowed, confused. When had she refused to...what was it the she-cat wanted her to do? Share a lizard? It was hard to remember things like this with the Other clamoring for attention in the back of her head. Perhaps it was because she had exposed her reluctance to communicate with strangers. "I'll always talk to a fellow con." She was eager to tell Pebblestripe about the Rebellion, since she seemed like a perfect candidate. A con, of course, intelligent and a relatively skilled hunter since she wasn't exceptionally scrawny.

Pebbletail nodded. "Oh, good. I just figured since you said you didn't much like socializing or living with other cats, you might have seen my offer as invasive. But I'm glad you don't. Yes. Why don't we go..." The gray con looked for a likely place. "...over there, in that little dip." She picked up the lizard and began to pad over to the dip in the sand.

Rainstripe felt kind of bad about leaving Whitewhisker, but she was intrigued by Pebbletail. She slowly headed over to the small dip Pebbletail had mentioned, the Other getting paranoid, thinking Pebbletail was leading her into lower ground to attack her, but Rainstripe helped it stay rational.
Her stomach wanted the lizard, but her brain wanted to talk. Besides, just taking it would be rude. She settled herself in the little dip and turned to Pebblestripe. "So, what do you want to talk about?"

After lying down, Pebbletail dropped the lizard and prodded it with her paw towards Rainstripe, urging her to take a bite. Then she answered the tabby's question.
"I was wondering if you knew about the Rebellion. I just joined, but I've been having trouble finding other members. Do you know any?"

Rainstripe perked up and nearly devoured the lizard, at least, that's what the Other wanted her to do. It was warily waiting in the back of her head, thinking there was something suspicious about this setup and wanting to eat the food as quickly as possible and leave. She managed to remain herself, however, and daintily took one bite of the lizard. It didn't quell her hunger, rather it enraged the monster in her stomach even more. "I, in fact, am a member of the Rebellion," she meowed proudly, holding her head high and puffing out her chest. "My friends Frozenheart, Drabheart, and Beetlepaw are also members." She was so glad that there were cats she could describe as friends.

Pebbletail's eyes widened. Incredible. This was very good. Maybe they could plan an assault on the Clanners...
"Ah, excellent. Perhaps I can join forces with you and your friends and we can work an attack on those lizardbrained Clanners out...with Beetlepaw's permission, of course."
She supposed she should consult the leader of the Rebellion before acting...though she was dying to do something. The gray con took a bite of lizard as she pondered.
