Because if we keep emitting so much CO2 global warming will eventually kill us. Actually, all the CO2 wouldn't matter if we had a bunch of plants to suck it up, but since we're also cutting down the trees...
Unfortunately, I cannot say such a thing to my dad. My parents are vvveeeerrrryyyy strict about respect.

> You're respecting the planet, why should they be mad? And I'm "venomous", Ten, because it's something extremely important. We don't save the planet, we die. Simple. FIGHT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT! -fistpump- And the animals.

People usually don't get so riled up about important things of more direct properties such as, say, murder.

Murder means one person dies. If we destroy the environment, almost all the animals will die, and they are completely innocent. Also, global warming will kill all of us. Not one person. EVERYONE.

The more appropriate term is climate change. Otherwise people will say, "but this is the coldest it's ever been since seven years ago."
Now seeing as just one truck doesn't destroy everything itself, I'm going with, though pollution = bad, one guy with a hummer is not as bad as, say, Stalin killing millions of Russians.

I have to agree with Ten. I thought you were talking about one person killing one person, not mass murder.

Initially, yes, I did mean single homicide. Yet one person's pollution doesn't kill everyone. It's everyone's combined pollution that's a threat.

Yes, that makes sense. But if we don't tell people what they're doing and get one person to stop at a time, it'll never get fixed.

What Ducky said. If we don't bother to adress everyone individually about the issue, they'll likely never change. They need to feel that while they're part of a larger effort, they also have a specific part to play. Uh...right? I'm mostly basing off how I felt about first learning about global warming.
