Ooc: Rainstripe thinks she's leader because she started the Experiment.
Bic: A shock went through Rainstripe as Frozenheart touched her nose. /Stop./ She commanded herself. The Other had vanished, like it always did when Frozenheart made contact with her. Breathing heavily, she looked up at Frozenheart and rested her head against his shoulder. Her whole body was still trembling with the exertion of trying to overcome the Other. This was the last place she wanted to be, so near a cat she had almost killed. Saying anything might make the other cons overhear, and she didn't want them to think she was deserting. She glanced up at Frozenheart, as if to say, let's leave.

Bronzefoot nodded gravely. "Yes, I believe so," he meowed, keeping a low tone of voice. He glanced back at the she-cat who was with a white tom that seemed familiar. Perhaps the white tom could help Batbrain, or at least make sure she didn't compromise the secrets of the all-too-real Rebellion.

Beetlepaw pretended not to notice the whole situation that had happened with Rainstripe, until she mentioned the Rebellion. She blinked, trying to seem confused, which wasn't hard, considering the situation with Rainstripe. She didn't get what was going on with the she-cat. It made no sense to her. Last time she spoke to Rainstripe, she was nice and quiet; why did she almost attack Woodstripe now? It.. She tried to shrug it off and instead glanced at Bronzefoot and Woodstripe, unsure of what she was saying earlier, due to the fact that she had been distracted by the Rainstripe situation.
"I don't know what the Rebellion is," she mewed finally, overhearing Woodstripe and Bronzefoot's conversation, trying to chip in. "I'm not sure what she means by that." She glanced back at Frozenheart, now that he was standing by Rainstripe. Maybe he knew what was going on. Not that he would tell her, anyways. She'd just have to speak to Rainstripe later.

ooc| "Rainstripe thinks she's leader because she started the Experiment." -- mmhm. It's still strange to me, though, as she hasn't done any leading. Link for Frozenheart and Rainstripe. bic| Woodstripe kept up a steady nod, noting their persistent assurance on the matter. "Well, I hope my brother is able to help her. "So what do you say to giving your idea a try, Frailheart? As it was your inspiration that brought us the project, you have high qualifications for overseeing its proceedings." She made an abrupt turn of her head. "Bronzefoot, to what can you testify?"

Pebbletail watched the proceedings coolly, as usual. Rainstripe had been foolish in saying the Rebellion's name, but there was little they could do about it now.
Her green eyes narrowed as she watched the cats speak, and Rainstripe...Rainstripe almost attacked Woodstripe. Pebbletail wouldn't have blamed her if she did, but the attack seemed rather...unprovoked. Woodstripe was an idiot, true, but...hm.
She observed as the discussion went on, calculating and plotting as she did.
Drabheart was utterly bewildered. He barely understood what was going on here. It was only his first minutes of joining the Rebellion, and suddenly this huge crowd of cats turns up lout of nowhere.
There seemed to be some sort of political struggle going on, as far as he could make out. But he wasn't sure. He had no idea what to do, so he did what he did best.
"Hi there. What's your name? I'm Drabheart."
Somehow it seemed comical to say such friendly, ordinary words in this mad situation.
And then Rainstripe turned positively...feral.
He knew it was a word that described every cat in the enclosure, but especially, at this moment, her. He shrank back from her very presence, eyes wide. He had no idea she could get like this. He was afraid, now...but he still had to help her. So, trembling as she was now, he leaned back up and looked at Frozenheart, trying to ask with his eyes: Can we get away from here?

ooc| Is Drabheart already at the other thread, or should Woodstripe respond?

Bronzefoot spoke carefully. "It has been an.. interesting experience, although I am still not sure whether I would join a real Clan were one to arise." He had planned to reveal his secret - that he had infiltrated this Experiment - to the other members of the Rebellion in private, and then he would carry out the plan. Now he would have to explain himself - once Woodstripe was gone, of course.
Frailheart was appalled at Woodstripe's words - 'your inspiration', 'your idea'. That was disheartening - but of course it wasn't true. Woodstripe had to have had it in her head when she brought it up. She, Frailheart, would have never suggested it.
She wanted to dismiss Woodstripe's offer with a snarl - but there were things to think about. For one, it would get her food. But now that she had friends in the Rebellion, perhaps she would not go hungry if she turned down the offer. Even so.. and what of the possibility of being able to sabotage it somehow? No, maybe not.. she could not claim to like the idea of a Clan at all, and she was not strong physically either. She glanced at Bronzefoot, who apparently was in this ridiculous Experiment.
"I don't believe so," she meowed coldly. "Unless there's something in particular you'd like to offer me for participating in your little.. Experiment, did you call it?"

"To offer you, you ask?" Woodstripe chuckled. "Provided Spiderstripe accepts you, I offer the experiment itself: the assembly of protection, the circle of companionship, the security of unity, the assurance of a full stomach -- but most of all, the chance to test for yourself this life under leadership that we have all heard of but never experienced for ourselves. Why discuss it, why debate for or against it, without taking advantage of this opportunity to taste of its meat? The personal experiences would give validation to any assertions on leadership you might make."
She had been speaking to Frailheart, but now she addressed the whole group of cons present. "You are welcome to speak to Spiderstripe about this limited opportunity. I encourage you to do so."
ooc| I'm using "tasted of its meat" like "tasted of its fruit", i.e. experienced it.

Beetlepaw watched the three cats leave, not sure if she should follow or not. Deciding she shouldn't, she turned back to Bronzefoot, Frailheart, and Woodstripe, also unsure about how she could contribute to this conversation. She narrowed her eyes when she heard the next words Woodstripe said; she couldn't just offer something like that. That was an opportunity for the cats in her Rebellion to run off and join some Clanner group. She didn't want them to leave her Rebellion. That was..
She blinked, then deciding to just drop that train of thought. She wasn't a Clanner, therefore she wasn't a leader. The cats in the Rebellion could do whatever they wanted to. She didn't have control over them. She wasn't a leader.. yet she was pretty possessive about the cats who joined her Rebellion. There was nothing wrong with that, she decided.
"I'd rather not," Beetlepaw mewed under her breath in response to the other tabby she-cat's words.
