Pity Party

Bronzefoot was bored. Really, really, bored. Events in the Experiment had gotten dull, and he was itching for a fight. He saw some cats down at the Boneyard maybe I could teach one of those Clanners a lesson today he thought. But wait - as he padded closer, he realized that these didn't look like Clanners at all. Beetlepaw, Frailheart, Grimykit - those were no Clanners. As he peered closer, he realized that Grimykit was in a bad state. Much as it pleased him that someone had finally taught Grimykit a lesson, Bronzefoot was curious. "Who did that to you?" he meowed, sitting down nearby.

Perfect - some toms with more meat on their bones. This would work much better.

"Wuz Speckledclaw! Dirtfaced Clanner who won't mind her own business!" he answered. "She done near butchered me! Wuz gonna kill me 'til Rainstripe talked her outta it, but she's still threatenin' ta kill me anyway if I make her mad again! Can ya believe that?" Grimykit paused to gasp for air. He couldn't keep repeating himself like this - that is, all in one breath. He rolled back his head and closed his eyes to rest. "Them Clanners... got some nerve..."

Orangestorm's eyes widened. Speckledclaw? She was in the Experiment too. It would be a perfect chance to exploit the Clanners. Then he remembered he was parading around disguised as one himself, which would make doing that troublesome, and growled in disappointment.

Trying to recall everything about Speckledclaw that he knew, he said, "You're a fool, Grimykit, everyone knows it - but Speckledclaw's a pretty good 'unter, from what I can gather. You'd be better off not messing around with 'er. I saw 'er at the Experiment - she looks pretty tough."

[Ten]

Grimykit's eyes widened. "I wuz mindin' my own stoned business! Should she be able ta get away with beatin' up otha cats whenever she wants? Jus' cuz she's some big, tough Clanner? She ain't all that tough if ya ain't already tuckered out from a fight ta begin with." Then, in a low grumble, he added, "...and I ain't no fool, neither."

Beetlepaw had paused to think about it, her mind trailing off to that and other things, as well. When she finally came to a conclusion, she said, "No, she shouldn't. I don't think any cat should force their beliefs on other cats." She looked over at Frailheart, Orangestorm, and Bronzefoot and nodded in acknowledgment. As far as she knew, all of the cats here were Cons. Then she nodded again at the statement Grimykit had made, about her not being so tough. "Obviously, she's not so smart, either, if she's for a clan."

Grimykit nodded. "Yeh, ain't tough, ain't smart. We c'ud take her. We oughta, really. I mean, we gotta show them Clanners what happens when they mess wi' us cons. We ain't no sissies, right?"

"Yeah, I bet we could take her," Beetlepaw agreed, "but, something like that would attract attention, including some cats of the Experiment and, as much as I hate to admit it, I don't think we could take all of them if they decided to help out. We're outnumbered as it is, I think." She didn't really know, since she wasn't exactly sure how many the Clanners had on their side.. "Correct me if I'm wrong on that, though."

"Aw, c'mon," Grimykit moaned, losing his patience. "Bet halfuv 'em ain't never fought nobody before, and the strongest cats among 'em are our undercova cons. They ain't gonna want ta protect her. The worst that c'ud happen is Woodstripe w'ud try an' talk us ta death."

"Okay," Beetlepaw said. "That could be true, but I don't really have a reason to risk my tail attacking what's-her-fur. I know that she supposedly tried to force her stupid views on you, but.. I don't know if I want to risk it." She looked over at the other cats. "What do you think?"

Orangestorm grunted impatiently. "It would be stupid to try and kill 'er now. It's just my own opinion, but from what I've gathered in the Experiment, them Clanners would be pretty keen on defending each other. A coupla' them could also be quite aggressive. Also, from what I could see, we 'ave about only 'alf the number of cats they do. I suggest we take a different approach, like showin' them what kind of damage Speckledclaw did." He flicked his tail at Grimykit. "It's Grimykit, but I personally doubt 'e coulda done something so bad Speckledclaw'd beat 'im up so badly. It's likely she was acting unfairly. She seems to 'ave a short temper."

Really? o.o I rather feel like slowly twisting Grimykit's head off at times. Then again, Grimykit can be pretty hilarious. I love the way he talks.
