Dingypaw sighed, stood up, her bones aching as she did so, and walked a few steps before flopping down again beneath the ledge. "Wow, that was some journey. I can't believe I made it this far," she meowed sarcastically, angry that Dullpaw had made her get up just to walk over to the ledge. Luckily, she wasn't going to have to deal with this forever. "Now get on with it. I want to sleep."

Darkfur raised a surprised eyebrow. Surely even this cricketbrain wasn't that dense that he still called the brown tom his warrior? Such presumption almost surely deserved a long, serious lecture and the striped con would have just loved to give Dullpaw one right then and there. But, he decided reluctantly, he really shouldn't. Not here and now. This ceremony....Darkfur didn't think it was particularly needed, but then, it was the way things were done, and Amberkit wouldn't be a kit for all his life. Let the fool name him if he so pleased. It certainly wouldn't give the idiot any more power over his apprentice, the odd tabby thoughty smugly. He padded lithely over beneath the ledge, sitting beside the somewhat cranky elder. Ah well, she still had a bit of spark in her, which was good.

ooc: I was waiting for Darky... but to keep this thread alive, I decided to post.
bic: Dullpaw had never felt so proud, important, and special. This Clan was even better than the old one, because he had the power all to himself and he didn't need to share it with a deputy. Also, he had a warrior, an apprentice, and an elder. What more could he ask for? Well, it wouldn't hurt to have some more strong cats as his followers, but he was pretty sure that his Clan was going to be a success anyway. If anyone happened to pass by their territory, he could always persuade them to join with some of his charm.
The stocky tom waved his tail and beckoned Amberkit forward with a quick nod of his head. Then he announced loudly, "I, Dullpaw, leada' of this Clan, is gonna proform a very impor'ant cer'mony. Amba'ki', yer name is now Amba'paw. Yer menta' will be Darkfuh', our new warria'! Train good so ya can brings a lotta food to yer Clan."
He ended his speech with a happy yowl, his little way of cheering the young cat, which was clearly audible to anyone within about ten fox-lengths.

Dingypaw felt genuine happiness for Amberpaw, untinged by her usual sarcasm. She remembered how she had felt at her apprentice ceremony, how she had been so proud. However, Dullpaw was involved, so she pretty much had to say something to show how little she cared about him. "Good job, Amberkit," she meowed sincerely. Then, "Well, now what do we do, o wise and powerful leader?"
