ooc| ahaha. Even Darkfur calls Frozenheart whitey.

The bulky tom bristled at Darkfur's contemptous dismissal of Rainstripe's answer. He had no right to treat anyone that way, in particular a lady, and a kindhearted one at that. Tail fluffed like a big white pipecleaner, Frozenheart drew back his lips and hissed. He was beginning to think a tom like Darkfur didn't deserve to hear him talk.

The striped tom saw the white cat's reaction, but merely raised an eyebrow. "So you can make noise, at least. What, are you mad at me now? I guess so. I didn't mean to offend your friend - I was just curious. Wouldn't you be curious if you were in a conversation and there was some cat who seemed to understand everything but didn't speak?" Darkfur had used one of his old tricks: When caught in a tricky spot, strike the opposition with their own claws, so to speak.

In response to this "trick" question about curiosity, Frozenheart only gave a reproachful shake of his head. To him, there wasn't anything the least bit curious about refusing to speak, and even if there were, it wouldn't warrant rude behavior.
He didn't consider this conversation worth anyone's time anymore. The tom flattened his fur and nudged Rainstripe with a soft muzzle, urging her to leave with him. Darkfur couldn't curb his tongue, and Nightbreeze... well, he was a Clanner. He didn't want her troubled with such company and wanted to keep an eye on her.

Rainstripe hissed angrily at the tom, barely keeping the Other in check. "I know because I watch him. Whenever anyone mentions a Clan, he shows signs of anger. When they begin to talk about how a Clan is a bad idea, he nods in assent. It's easy to understand if you've known him a while and actually pay attention," she spat contemptuously, her fluffed fur making her look even larger than she already was. "And besides, how would you know what he's thinking? I've known him longer than you have and he hates you." She let the Other get its last licks in without being too violent- she lunged forward and snapped her teeth shut barely a claw's width from his muzzle. Not wanting it to get too out of hand- she wanted to appear intelligent after all, not like some crazed psychotic maniac- she immediately spun around and marched back to Frozenheart, her head held high, the Other yearning to dig its claws into flesh. She settled for sand. "Let's go," she meowed, agreeing with Frozenheart, and began to head away from the tom.

The gray she-cat scared him. He was contemptuous of her, but in some deep place - Darkfur did have depth, hard though it was to believe - he was scared of her. It was stupid. Why should he be? All she'd done was snap at him - and she hadn't even actually bitten him. But there was just something about it...never mind. He should just forget about it and talk to someone civilized, who actually understood business scams his ideas.
After an awkward pause, he turned to Nightbreeze and said, "Well, now that we're rid of that riffraff, how about we continue our discussion?"

Nightbreeze nodded. He glanced at the she-cat who was walking away and said in a low voice, "She seemed rather creepy. I'm glad that she's gone." He was silent for a moment and then cleared his throat. "So, um... where were we?"
The tom he was speaking to seemed alright; although his ideas were not your typical Clanner's, he seemed to be the type that could be swayed. Nightbreeze could definitely hang around him for a while.

OOC: XD Too right, Gosh. I think Nightbreeze eventually will convince him.
BIC: Darkfur gave a pompous little nod. "Too right. Oh, and um...I forget." The muscular brown tabby shrugged. "But tell me something. How would Clanners deal with all the idiot and most probably violent cons if they did happen to make a Clan?"

Nightbreeze thought for a moment. "Well, it depends on what you mean exactly by that. If the Cons were roaming around, not part of the Clan, then we would make an attempt to establish boundaries, rules - such as no stealing or killing - so that we could have peaceful relations. However, if they would not abide by such rules, we would devise a way to punish them without killing them."
He paused for a moment, formulating his next response. "If they did deign to be a part of the Clan itself, then they would have to go by the same rules as everyone else, and would not be treated differently unless they had to be."

"Mmm. Say, though, if the cons decided to band together and attack you as one? Tell me honestly, what would the the Clan's chances be? Also, how much time and effort would be spent catching the cons and punishing them?" What Nightbreeze said seemed mostly sensible, but it did have a few holes, he concluded. However, maybe the Clanners had a backup for that. Of course, with multiple groups, there would be no cat unhappy.
He kept this thought to himself, however.
"Good, good. A Clan is no place for prejudice. We wouldn't want discontent, now would we?" He smiled a smile which was meant to be pleased and satisfied, but turned out cheesy. Like the scammer he was.

"Well, I don't know whether there are more Clanners than cons or not - I hope so - and I don't know which side has the more powerful fighters. There are too many variables involved. However, all cons are cons for different reasons, so perhaps they wouldn't be able to work as a team quite as efficiently. And I do know that cons don't seem to be as trusting as Clanners, so that lessens the possibility that they would band together." Nightbreeze was quite convinced of this, and pleased with his logic. Now for the next question. "Well, cons that attacked us without letting diplomacy solve the issue would be dangerous to our kits and elderly, so we would have to focus our attention on making sure they were apprehended. But we would still need to eat, so of course hunting teams would still go out." He smiled back at Darkfur, unaware that his smile was just as cheesy.
