Name| Barkpaw
Gender| Tom
Physical Description| He is a dusty-brown mackerel tabby with a white muzzle, belly, eye rings, and paws. His eyes are yellow-green with a dull light in them. He has a medium-large build and average strength. His gait is quick and silent.
Views| Barkpaw wants a Clan. Being an excessive flirt, he would love nothing more than to be surrounded by she-cats from his Clan. He is also quite ambitious and would want to be deputy if there were a Clan, for although he enjoys being in charge, he does not think he is responsible enough for the role of leader. Besides, a Clan is usually a refuge from fighting amongst each other. Barkpaw hates battle, as well as the phrase, "Every cat for themselves."
Kin| Thornclaw (father; deceased), Lightfur (mother; deceased), Blackfoot (aunt); Tawnytail (female cousin; deceased), Nightheart (male cousin; deceased)
History| Soon before Barkpaw--then Bark-kit--was born, a famine had swept through the edifice. The extremely intense heat made food scarce, since they took to cooler places that could not be reached by cats. Because of this, Bark-kit's mother, Lightfur, was weakened, so she only gave birth to him. This and an unhealthy loss of blood made her kitting fatal to her.
Thornclaw, Bark-kit's father, had no time to mourn, however. His son was without a mother, and he needed milk to survive. So he looked to his sister, Blackfoot, who had recently weaned her kits, Tawnykit and Nightkit, and still had leftover milk. She agreed to look after Bark-kit and soon thought of him as a son instead of a nephew.
Soon later, though, Thornclaw died in a fight for food from a vicious, desperate cat. Blackfoot was not the revenge-seeking type, and she had kits to look after, so she mourned and moved on. Barkkit was too young to remember, and the topic was never brought up again.
When he was old enough, Bark-kit received his apprentice name, Barkpaw. He trained alongside the also apprenticed Tawnypaw and Nightpaw, but being five months older than him, they were much farther along in their training than Barkpaw. Therefore, he looked up to them for advice and thought of them as "assistant mentors". The older apprentices happily helped him.
Soon Tawnypaw and Nightpaw became warriors--Tawnytail for her great balance and Nightheart for his joviality. Although Barkpaw wanted them to stay until his warrior ceremony, they decided to head off on their own. He was sad to see them go, but soon accepted it and said his last goodbyes. Unbeknownst to Barkpaw, however, the two later died while out on a rat hunt.
Two months later and being mentored by Blackfoot, Barkpaw is well into his apprentice training. He always remembers the hints his cousins gave him and hopes to be great warriors like them.
One day, while Barkpaw was out looking to flirt, he came across a group of cats who were a part of an "experiment Clan". He joined it, and met Redstream, an orange tabby, who is now the love of his life. He vies for her attentions whenever he can, and hopes that someday she will feel the same way about him.
