Bluekit wasn't about to fight any cat. He had trouble telling how far claws were from his face. Also, as his name suggested, he'd never been apprenticed. So he left hunting to Sandfur, who wasn't much of a fighter either. Not that she couldn't fight, it was just that she didn't want any cat to get hurt. She still harbored the idea that she could scare Grimykit off, or convince him to stay off her land.
"Listen," she growled, "I don't want to fight, so if you just leave that lizard and get off my territory no cat will get hurt."

"Yer tha dirtface, dirtface!" Grimykit spat back at Bronzefoot. But he wasn't looking for a conversation. With that, he took the lizard in his jaws and took off running.

Bronzefoot rolled his eyes. "Whatever," he meowed, although he knew Grimykit wouldn't hear. He lazily looked over to the she-cat. "So," he couldn't help sneering, "you gonna go over there and show him that stealing is wrong or whatever?" His tail flicked back and forth. 'Things are getting too boring around here,' he thought. 'A good fight would liven things up.'

Sandfur was reluctant to follow Grimykit, until she heard what Bronzefoot had to say. He was right (although it pained her to admit it). Someone had to teach that cat a lesson. So she bolted after him.
"Hey, where are you going?" Bluekit yelled. Oh, well, He thought, sighing. I'll just wait. So he sat down and finished the half-eaten cricket Sandfur had left behind.

Grimykit snickered to himself, sure that she wouldn't bother chasing him, before hearing her pawsteps as she raced after him. He picked up speed in a sudden jolt of adrenaline and looked over his shoulder. She wasn't serious... was she? He didn't dare risk it. The tom kept up his pace, assuring himself that she would give up soon, that she couldn't take him down, that no one would help her.

Sandfur knew she could corner him near the wall. She began to edge slightly to one side in an effort to make him turn. If she could get up close, she knew she could make sharper turns than him and eventually close the distance.

Bronzefoot watched from a distance. Interesting. Sandfur just might actually catch up to Grimykit... and if she did, surely there would be a fight. Excellent. The tom grinned and meowed enthusiastically to Bluekit, "Your friend is fast, it seems. Although I wouldn't fight over a lizard myself, it's great entertainment if you're a bystander, yes?"

Bluekit grinned. "I guess." He watched Sandfur run after Grimykit. "But she'll never be able to catch him without help." • • • "Help! Thief!" Sandfur yowled ironically. She just hoped some cat would notice. And care.

ooc| Though I'd rather some else catch Grimykit, I don't want to postpone this thread any longer. And damsels in distress are Frozenheart's thing, after all.

A pair of eyes, the color of a sky cats could only see in fragmented glimpses now, scanned the enclosure. Beetlepaw hadn't given the white tom any Rebellion instructions, leaving him with something of a passive role in recent drama. However, he didn't have to stick to the cats he knew.
While observing his surroundings, a flash of movement and a she-cat's cries for help caught his eye. Preceding her, Grimykit began to turn.
Frozenheart jumped to his paws and sprinted to cut him off. The tabby thief had already used up most of his energy, and when he saw the large tom blocking his path, he made a decision based on past experience - he dropped the lizard and changed course. Frozenheart gave him a warning hiss, just to make sure he didn't come back, and took the lizard in his own mouth.

Sandfur slowed down, hoping that this new cat would be friendly. She had had enough of annoying toms for a season. "Thanks," she ventured in a voice that showed that she was out of breath.
