Branchkit was about to spit at Pebblestream and tell her exactly what she thought of the older feline for a moment, which was, "Do you think I'm crazy or somethin'? I'm not going to attack her, you know." Luckily, she had the sense to only shoot a glare at Pebblestream and sit on her haunches, tail tip twitching irritably.

Mothfoot flattened her ears as the two cats approached, and she lashed her tail. Her nerves were taking over again, but she wouldn't let them embarrass her in front of these two cats.
"The name's Mothfoot," said Mothfoot, blinking. She tried to flatten her fur, but her attempt was to no avail. Mothfoot looked at the two cats; the older one had approached her with kindness, the younger with hostility. Mothfoot wondered vaguely if they were kin.

A tom stalked along the ground, his thin, brown belly brushing the dust as he approached a lizard. After he had made the kill, their conversation caught his ear. The tall tabby looked up, limp reptile in his jaws, to see a trio of she-cats.
He swaggered over with his tail in the air and dropped the lizard at his paws. "Well helloooo, pretty kitties."

Great. Another cat..., thought Mothfoot, looking away from the two she-cats to see a tom stalking over, a lizard in his jaws. Mothfoot had just wanted some peace and quiet, and now this. "Um, hello...," mewed Mothfoot, addressing the tom. "You are...?" Mothfoot mentally scolded herself for sounding so pathetic. It was just that this whole situation was throwing the poor she-cat off guard.

Pebblestream wrapped her tail around herself, her eyes bright with amusement at the other cat's discomfort. Her eyes flashed to the tom and then back to Branchkit to check back on the young cat's over excitement.
She purred with laughter. "Calm down! You look like you have just seen a rat pack!!!!" she purred once more to the she-cat. Her eyes flashed back toward the tom, "Why hello there, nice catch." She nodded toward his lizard.

"Tha name's Grimykit, but I'z a full-grown tom, an' ya don't gotta take my word for it, neither." He winked, then looked at Pebblestream. "Yeah, ain't it? Caught it jus' now - it's fresh. Ya want it? I'll give it to ya, in exchange for a lil' somethin'," he offered with a leering smile.

"Oh, this is just great," Branchkit groaned, shooting a look of dislike toward the tom. She could bet that he was flirting with Mothfoot and Pebblestream. "And what's that, huh? Rats every day for supper?" she challenged. "Or maybe a servant?"

Pebblestream chuckled and shook her head. She flicked her tail over Branchkit's mouth and flashed her an irritated look, then stepped around the younger she-cat and toward Grimykit.
"I'm Pebblestream, and I can hunt for myself. Thank you." she said with a smile. She padded up to the tom and circled him. She drug the tip of her tail down his flank, her eyes danceing with mischief.

Mothfoot watched the exchange between the two she-cats and the tom with wide eyes. She wasn't sure what Pebblestream was accomplishing my performing such an action toward the tom, the one who called himself Grimykit. Mothfoot had heard of Grimykit, but she'd never met him personally. She supposed now she had no choice about meeting him or not.

Bronzefoot found his paws taking him to the Boneyard. As he approached, he thought about his dead brother, Brownclaw. Although he couldn't have told a soul which corpse (or pile of bones, more like) was his beloved sibling, he thought about all that had happened on that fateful day.
That is, until he spotted Grimykit and three she-cats, and there was a scowl on his face and not a thought about his long-deceased family. He padded up to the group and asked, "So, why are you hanging out with this filth?" He nodded his head towards Grimykit.
