"H-heeey!" Beetlepaw protested again. She batted at him now and smirked. She wouldn't back down this time. Even if she was trying to get other cats' attentions, they weren't showing up. When they did, then she would pay attention to them. If they wanted to be lazy and not come, then that wasn't her problem.

"Come on! I'll really beat you this time!" She urged, a playful look coming to her this time. If other cats saw her doing this, sure, she'd be embarrassed, but that didn't matter right now.

[Ten]

There, see? Not so high and mighty after all. She was silly, he thought, but she was a nice breath of fresh air from all those serious cats who got into debates and battles and maintained a formal, dignified air.

Frozenheart gave a short bark of disagreement and crouched again, then sprang at her.

[moddy]

"Eeee!" Beetlepaw squeaked before turning and running. She stopped after a few steps, though. If she hadn't have ran, Frozenheart probably would've gotten her, but, luckily, she had. That made her a liar, though. She said that she would beat him and then ran away like a coward?

She hissed under her breath and then snorted. "I bet you think you're so good now, but I'll get you this time! Really, I will!" She nodded furiously before crouching. After a few seconds of staring him down, she charged him. If she reached him, she'd swipe at him. If he moved out of the way... well, she might just hit the wall or something.

[Ten]

Frozenheart widened his eyes, having expected her to at least attempt to fight. And now she was charging him? What? This little cat showed no end to her absurdity.

So he decided to charge her too. Let's see how she reacts to that, he thought.

Oh, now he was copying her, was he? She narrowed her eyes as she continued to charge him. Once the distance was closed in more so than before, she pounced. She was aiming to land on his back, but what if she missed?

Well, she hoped she didn't, at least.

[Ten]

Frozenheart did not like to play piggy-back. Careful not to hurt her, he fell on his side in hopes of dislodging her. Then twisted over to face her - that is, swing his paws at her face.

"Eee!" She yelped as the two of them fell. Once she was down, she tried to get back up, but she wasn't fast enough. When she saw the paws coming towards her face, she tried to defend herself with her own feet, but then decided to roll away instead.

She rolled onto her back in an attempt to avoid the hit, but she wasn't so successful; she still managed to get hit a little. And now she was on her back, which was a smooth move.

"Hey, hey! Let me get up first, okay?!" She protested, rolling over again until she could push herself up with her paws. "'Cause, if you didn't, that wouldn't be fair."

Bic: Rainstripe obediently followed Beetlepaw, feeling braver with every step. /This is the beginning of my new life! No more fearful Rainstripe!/ she thought cheerfully. While she was daydreaming (and not watching where she was going) the she-cat tripped over a rock half buried in the sand. Rainstripe tumbled to the ground, sand coating her fur. By the time she had cleaned most of it off, Beetlepaw was far ahead. She meowed in surprise, then followed the scent left by her new ally until she reached an area in which Beetlepaw and another cat were- fighting? Play-fighting? They didn't look to be trying that hard, so it must've been a play-fight. Now what should she do? Hesitantly she approached the cats. "Uh-hello? Sorry I'm late, I, uh, tripped," she mewed with embarrassment.

[Ten]

Frozenheart paused and let her get to her paws, doing the same himself. It wasn't so much for her plea of fairness as his Code of Honor. He liked to think of himself as a noble, chivalrous cat. More likely he was just foolish, true, and in a fight with a cat more dangerous than Beetlepaw he might get himself hurt.

But Beetlepaw was no such threat, now was she?

The tom looked up to see Rainstripe and gave her a friendly smile. Was she in on this too? It would be nice to have already met one of the members of the Rebellion, though he wasn't opposed to meeting strangers.

Seeing the white cat's friendly response, Rainstripe tentatively smiled back. "What's your name?" she asked, hoping that was the right thing to say. And just to make sure he and Beetlepaw were allies she added, "Are you part of the Rebellion? I just joined."
