Lightstripe padded quietly to the boneyard, ignoring the other cats around her. There were so many in the enclosure these days, it felt like.
She dragged her paws against the rock as she approached the pile of dead bodies, cats who had lost their lives to starvation, feud, the heat, and the cold. She nuzzled her mothers fur. She was balding by now, and she could feel where her bones were going to break first through the frail, dead skin.
She didn't bother to look at her father. He brought his fate upon himself.

"It sounded like they were discussing something" -- They stopped discussing and left quite a while ago. But let's see what trouble Grimykit can get into...

"Heya, kitty cat," a tabby tom called out to her, though not out of good-natured friendliness. He was announcing his presence. Not the most modest cat - in fact, maybe the least modest cat, he considered himself a force to be reckoned with.
He shuffled through the corpses, kicking and flicking them aside, because for one thing, they were in his way, and for another, the cats here tended to be sentimental morons and it was fun to make them overreact. He came to a bare, yellowed skeleton and from it took a bone on which he began to gnaw.

(Oh, of course I put that there when it's not supposed to be D: I modified my post.)
Lightstripe looked up from where her head rested on her mothers to spot a brown tabby charging through the corpses over to her. She looked at him with irritation. Had this cat no respect for the deceased? She focused her green eyes on him, hoping to stare him into submission. He was bothersome already. Finally, she spoke. "Why would you do that?" she asked calmly, motioning her forepaw to the path of kicked corpses, and then stabbed it at the long bone.

"'Heya, kitty cat,' she had heard him say before he blundered over. It sounded more like a call to announce his arrival rather than a greeting. He started to gnaw on one of the bones." -- Don't summarize my post. My post is already right there above yours. Focus more on what your characters do.

"Ey, mis mone's mine!" he growled with the bone still in his teeth, yanking it away from her. "Mit yer own." He disregarded her question, as protecting his possession - that wasn't his to begin with, but he had decided that it was now - was much more important than any stupid discussion of respect and tradition and morality.

Lightstripe snorted, almost in disgust. This tom was acting like a kit. She drew her forepaw back slowly and let out an abrade sigh and said, "Fine, sorry I bothered you." She flicked her tail tip as she began to descend down the small pile. She didn't want to visit her mother if all she had to think about is this annoying cat.

Lightstripe stopped and turned on the tom. "And I should be? I should?" she hissed. Lightstripe could already tell she was overreacting as adrenaline pulsed through her veins. She tried to keep calm. "You know nothing about me, you worthless scrap of fur. My mother died to keep me alive when I couldn't take care of myself."

Grimykit laughed. "Don't know nothin' 'bout ya an' sure don't wanna. An' ya don't need ta tell me ya can't take care a yerself. Anyone can see tha' yer that pathetic jus' by lookin' atcha. So wi' yer momma gone..." He stretched and padded toward her. "...who's bin takin' care a ya, huh?"

Lightstripe realized he was right. She wasn't taught everything she needed to know about surviving in the enclosure. "This is why we need a Clan," she said firmly. "Cats who can't look after themselves need someone to help them, and in a Clan, there's no one who wouldn't help."

"You's a Clanner?" he asked, narrowing his green eyes. "I shoulda known. Listen, we don't need no Clan an' there ain't never gonna be one. It'd jus' make everythin' worse. Me, I like tha' I can do whateva I want without no cricket-brained leader ta stop me. Ain't nothin' good 'bout a Clan."
