Bronzefoot sat down by the wall and began to groom himself. "Those Clanners won't know what hit them," he meowed quietly, "when I tell everyone about the horrible time I had in the experiment." He chuckled for a little bit and then stopped, gazing around the enclosure.
Since there was no one in earshot, he continued to talk to himself. "I wonder if I'm the only one who believes what I believe," he began. "After all, most cats believe in the story of RiverClan and all that. But I think that us cats have always been in this here enclosure."
Realizing how stupid he looked, talking to himself, he closed his eyes and kept his thoughts in his head.
'The question is, how many cats are willing to believe that RiverClan is just a fantasy made up by an insane elder?'
There was no one near enough for Bronzefoot to ask, though, so he simply opened his eyes and started grooming himself again.

The ginger she-cat chuckled. Cats thought that she was one of the insane ones, but lookie here! Some cat was talking to himself. Now that was pretty crazy, in her opinion.
Not only was this funny to her, but she also recognized the cat. She couldn't exactly place her paw on it, but... "Aha!" She mewed loudly, in success.
"Bronzeytoes, that you?" The small she-cat stepped out from one of the shadows near the wall and narrowed her eyes, trying to make sure. "Yep, yep. I'm pretty sure it is!" She responded to herself.
"What? You talkin' to ya self now, huh? Huh?" She asked mockingly. Oh, this was too good. "Hey! I thought only insane cats did that, huh? Or at least, that's what some cats say. Do you agree with that? Jus' wonderin'..." She mumbled.
"Wait, wait! If ya think that cats have always been in the enclosure.... I have a question for ya," she nodded. "How did this enclosure possibly get here, if it wasn't for RiverClan?"

Bronzefoot scowled, displeased to hear that someone had heard him. Ignoring the insults, he replied with a shrug, "This enclosure has always been here." After a moment, he added, "Some cats who speak to themselves are insane, yes. But as I wasn't speaking to myself about insane things, I don't believe I am insane. And if you think I am insane, well, I really couldn't care less."

"That's not what I was askin'," she mewed. "I don't think anythin' can always be here. Unless somethin' put it here. Now, as I was sayin', how did the enclosure get here, other than by RiverClan?"
She snorted. "So, if I sat here and talked about the outside of the enclosure, I would be 'sidered insane? No, no, Bronzeytoes," she shook her head. "Honestly, honestly! I haf'ta wonder why I'd be insane jus' 'cuz stuff like that. I don't go around callin' other cats insane, jus' 'cuz they don't believe in RiverClan." She said, referring to the tom.

"Okay. You don't think anything can always be here. However, I do. I'll leave it at that," Bronzefoot meowed with a bit of a smirk.
He paused a bit, his expression changing to annoyance. "No. I mean, if someone sat here and talked about leaving the enclosure, then they would be considered insane. But I wouldn't call them insane to their face, of course."

"'Dat answer ain't satisfyin', I have to admit," she mewed calmly, "so I'm goin' to have to ask ya to answer again." She nodded. She was persistent; she could keep bugging him all day about this question if she needed to. Either that, or he could answer with a 'satisfying answer', whatever that was according to Gingerstream.
"Oh, alrighty, Bronzeytoes," she shrugged. "Y'know I think 'dat leavin' the 'closure would be great. Don'tcha think it would be wunderful, Bronzeytoes? I think so. All 'dose legends of the bright light and stuffs outside the 'closure seems wunderful to me." Sure, she believed all that. But, she was also just doing it to annoy 'Bronzeytoes'.

Bronzefoot opened his mouth and then closed it again. Then he closed his eyes for a few moments so that he could sort out what he was going to say and be able to say it clearly and calmly. With his eyes still closed, he meowed, "I believe that the enclosure has always been here. Cats die and cats are born, but as the enclosure has always been here, so at every point in time, some cats have been here. Then they die, and other cats are born, and so the cycle continues. The same goes for rats, and the insects." He opened his eyes and glanced to the wall. "The legends are lies. There is no outside." He said this seriously, calmly, and just a little fervently. He believed what he said.

"I think you're both cricket-brained," said Rockpelt, seeming to step out of nowhere. "The outside exists, but we'll never see it. If there were no outside, where would all this light come from?"

Bronzefoot turned to the newcomer. "The light does not 'come from' anywhere as you speak - or at least that is what I believe. It is simply there, or it is not there." He shrugged. "Of course, perhaps I am wrong. We shall never know. But it is quite irrelevant to us."
