"There's lots of cats over there and they're all clustered around something... I think there's somethin' interesting going on!" he mewed in response to Dingypaw. He gave an excited little bounce.
He repeated his first question, "Should we go and see?" It didn't occur in his small head that he could do what he liked; he had always felt that he didn't have the authority to choose for himself, due to the way his bossy (though sometimes nice) sister treated him in his early days.

Dingypaw shrugged. "Nah. If you want to, go, but I don't feel like it. That's a far way to walk and I don't really care." Then she thought of something. "Hey, maybe we could go over there and try to convince them to join the experiment."

Redstream nodded in agreement as Dingypaw's last sentence, eager to do something for the experiment now that she was involved. "Yes, let's," she said. "Could you perhaps walk over if someone were to help you?"
Redstream was still eager for the other cats' responses, and was in no hurry to hop on over just yet.

Dingypaw stood, grimacing at the pain she felt. "I guess I could walk there if I had help..." she meowed. "But first we should see if the other cats want to come with us. After all, the two of us won't really be much help in that mob of cats." The old she-cat sat down again and began to try and wash the sand out of her gray fur. "I'll wait as long as I have to."

The little tom scampered up toward the crowd, but stayed a fox length away from them. Who knew, they could easily squash him if they had to.
He stretched his neck to get a better view, but too many heads blocked his sight. Batkit padded back to Dingypaw and Redstream. "I don't know what they're doin'," he reported, even though this little scrap of 'information' wasn't needed.
"I'll help you, Dingypaw," he mewed toward his elder. "Besides, it might take a long time for Woodstripe to come back, and maybe we could make at least one cat join us."

"Yes," Redstream chirruped, in agreement. She bent her head to help Dingypaw too, but noted a cat with a speckled coat approaching. "There's someone coming over here," she said.
Speckledclaw neared the small group of cats, and noted that the ambling cat she's seen was an elder. Well, she hadn't seen an elder in a while. "Might I be of any help?" she queried.

Ooc: In what thread is this 'group of cats?' Dingypaw smiled as she stood up. "I'm thankful for your offer, but I may be able to walk over to the cats without help. They're closer than I thought. Just point me the right way if I wander off course," she meowed. "But If I do need help, I'll ask one of you. Should we go over there now or wait until later?"

ooc;; In the thread 'Cannibalism'.
"Alright then. There's nothing much to see there though, just two cats fighting rather badly," Speckledclaw remarked, moving beside Batkit so that the four cats formed a row.
Redstream looked with interest as the warrior spoke and moved around, noting that she had no grace nor elegance. Redstream, however, wasn't a judgmental cat, so there was nothing wrong with that. The she-cat said, in reply to Dingypaw, "Well, I think now's best, even if it's just a fight. Like you said, we might still be able to get some cats to join the experiment."
Speckledclaw's ears pricked at the sound of that. The experiment .. she'd heard of it before. They called it the mini-clan. She twitched her nose.

"Let's go," Spiderpaw meowed. "It is an opportunity to get more cats to join us." She smiled. 'This is going so well,' she thought. 'Woodstripe will be pleased if we get two more cats to join, since Patchfur...' Her lively expression dimmed. 'He angers too easily. And he squabbles with Shortwhisker too much. It is good that he is gone.'
Frowning, she wondered whether Woodstripe could see how dangerous a cat he was. He could start fights, if only with Shortwhisker. And that would make the experiment look bad. So why was Woodstripe looking for him?

"What's wrong?" Dingypaw asked, concern showing in her eyes. Spiderpaw's expression had her worried. If they went into a fight area with her looking like that, it might make the fighting cats think she was hostile. After all, their judgement would be clouded with anger during the fight. Hopefully she could soothe the irritated black she-cat before they left.
