Roleplayer name- Ducky
---
Name- Dingypaw
Gender- She-cat
Physical Description- Despite the fact that she still has an apprentice name, Dingypaw is an old cat with orange eyes. Her fur is matted, tangled, and ragged, mostly covered in sand, though on the few occasions when she actually cleans her fur you can see that it is a dark grey color. She is thin and scrawny, because she cannot hunt nearly as well as when she was young; failing eyesight and hearing are primary causes of this. Dingypaw is of an average height, and her left ear is missing.
Views- Dingypaw thinks the Clan should reform, not only because she thinks it would improve the lives of all cats, but for her own reasons as well. She knows it won’t be too long before she can’t hunt for herself, and since she doesn’t communicate with her kits anymore, as soon as she is unable to take care of herself, Dingypaw will die. If there were a Clan, she and the other elders would get fed and have longer lives. She has seen some not-so-trustworthy cats wanting to be leader, but she is certain that if any of those cats tried to take over the Clan, the rest of the cats would overpower them. A leader and Clan would suit her just fine- after all, if there were no leader, who would make sure the elders got fed?
Kin- Stormclaw, father (deceased) Whitefur, mother (deceased) Palepaw, sister (deceased) Stonepelt, mate (deceased) Lightfur, kit, Blacktail, kit
History- Dingypaw’s parents were good at compromising. Stormclaw got to choose where they lived, and Whitefur got to name the kits. Because Whitefur was vain and obsessed with looks, she named the white kit Palekit and the gray one Dingykit, because the gray fur was ugly in her eyes compared to Palekit’s white.
Stormclaw favored Dingykit, trying to make up for his mate’s preference of Palekit. When they were apprentices, Dingypaw was a strong, able cat, not exceedingly talented at any one thing, but relatively good at hunting and fighting. Palepaw was frail and weak, so when a sickness infected the whole family, Palepaw was the only one to die.
Dingypaw and Palepaw were friends as well as sisters, despite their parents’ preference, and Dingypaw refused to take a warrior name out of respect for her sister- she didn’t want to be considered a higher rank than Palepaw. Her mother was so sad that she stopped eating, and, despite Stormclaw’s protests, died soon after Palepaw’s death.
Dingypaw spent all her time with her father after this, and they grew to be good friends, though eventually she left him to seek a mate. She found Stonepelt, a strong, trustworthy, dependable tom, and they had two kits, Lightfur and Blacktail.
One day, while Dingypaw was out hunting and Stonepelt staying with the kits (he was a better fighter and she was a better hunter), she returned to find the two kittens crying and Stonepelt bleeding heavily. He managed to tell her that two cats had been trying to steal their food (they had a fresh-kill pile), and a cat accidentally clawed him too strongly and mortally wounded him. He died soon after.
Dingypaw raised the kittens as best she could, but they reminded her of Stonepelt, and as soon as she gave them their warrior names and they left, she stopped communicating with them forever. She returned to her father and stayed with him until he died of old age.
