There has to be at least one character other than Shortwhisker himself who doesn't see through her right off the bat. ---x--- Ooc: It isn't hard to realize that she's trying to brainwash Shortwhisker.

Spiderpaw looked at Batkit. "R-really?" she stuttered, amazed. "You think I-I would be a good leader? Well..."
The she-cat wasn't sure what to say. Leadership was a hard responsibility, but Batkit seemed to have faith in her. But should she accept the nomination? After all, Redstream had seemed like a good candidate, and she had been going to cast her vote for her.
'But maybe I should have faith in myself, too,' she thought. Not a second later, she meowed, "I accept the nomination."
Bronzefoot thought for a while. 'This mini-Clan has to be stopped before it can turn into anything bigger,' he mused. 'It will be easier to wreck this experiment if I am leader. I could be an example of a corrupt leader, an example who could change the minds of the impressionable.' He glanced at Batkit for a moment, then turned back to Patchfur. He was about to accept the nomination when he realized that if his plan worked, his reputation would be ruined. 'Being shunned by Clanners wouldn't be so bad, but what if cons thought I was evil too? Or what if they killed me to remove me from power?' But he told himself, 'This is for the good of cats as a whole. Besides, I probably won't get enough votes to be leader.' He nodded to himself and meowed, "I accept your nomination."

Patchfur rolled his eyes. Great. Spiderpaw accepted, and now she would be eligible to be leader. That was the last thing he needed. Luckily, everyone besides himself and Batkit seemed to want to vote for Redstream. He didn't know much about her, so he didn't know whether or not she would be better than Spiderpaw. Then again, most anyone was better than Spiderpaw. He looked over at Fadedpelt again. "What do you think of that cat?" he asked Batkit. "Oh, and by the way, have you met Shortwhisker yet?" It seemed like a pointless thing to say, but Patchfur wanted to know whether or not Batkit was being fooled by her little act. And if the kit had ever met Shortwhisker before, he would know that the tom had the brains of a half-dead cricket, and would easily fall for such an act.
A smirk crossed his face when Bronzefoot accepted his nomination as well. Well, that was one piece of good news. He didn't think the tom would get to be leader, though. Everyone else would probably vote against him, since he didn't want a Clan at all. This meant that he probably didn't like being bossed around, which meant that he wouldn't boss the other cats.

ooc: Did Batkit meet Shortwhisker in person yet? x3 I can't remember.
bic: "Um... I dunno," he replied, shrugging. "But she's in the experiment, right? So she has to be okay, at least," he mewed carelessly. "And I don't know much about that cat except that he stutters a lot and doesn't want to be leader. Why'd you ask?"

"Just wondering if you'd met either of them before," Patchfur replied. Obviously, he didn't see through Fadedpelt's act. He was a kit, though, so it wasn't like he was expected to. "Why do you think Spiderpaw would be a good leader?" Patchfur asked. He himself had no idea, so since Batkit had nominated her, he probably had a reason.

"Uh, she's nice and smart and friendly, you know?" The tabby was getting uneasy, not understanding why Patchfur was asking him so many questions. "And, um, she's not rude or mean or very bossy or cruel."

Ooc: Sorry for asking this a lot, but how old is Batkit? Is he a kit, or is he apprentice-age?
Bic: Apparently Spiderpaw had been kinder to Batkit than to him. It must be because the kit agreed with her and he didn't. Of course, he did want a Clan, but all the other cats seemed to care about was the fact that he didn't want a leader. Were there any other cats that thought the same way? Probably not. "I see," he meowed, mostly to himself. "Who do you think will become leader? I want it to be Bronzefoot, but Redstream seems like the current favorite. She doesn't seem so bad."

Orangestorm gave a loud scoff at Patchfur's last remark. "Redstream? Not so bad? She's an air'ead, she'll lead this thing to ruin, in no time. I'd imagine Redstream ain't too familiar with the cats around 'ere. and that's why she seems an alright cat."
He shuffled closer to the two conversing cats. "I don't mean to disturb, but what, pray tell, makes you think that those cats you nominated should be leader? I'm jus' interested." Orangestorm hoped his expression didn't betray his glee at being part of a ploy to take down the experiment.

"Well," Patchfur replied, "I think Bronzefoot will make a good leader because he's actually against the idea of a Clan. He doesn't like being bossed around, so he won't boss /us/ around. Also, Bronzefoot, being against the idea of a Clan, won't mind that I never wanted a leader in the first place, whereas I'm sure many of the other candidates might be biased against me because of that. And how do you know Redstream? I actually wouldn't mind it if the experiment was ruined; it would help prove that leaders aren't a good way to rule the Clan."

ooc: He's about nine or eight moons old, but it's hard to tell from the way he acts. x3
bic: Batkit shrugged. "It could be any of them, I guess." He jumped when another tom spoke. "I want Spiderpaw to be leader," he mewed to him. "What about you?"
The young tabby turned to stare at Patchfur, not sure if he had heard his last remark correctly. "You don't care? It would be awful if this was ruined!"
