"I am afraid I am beginning to have doubts about the length of your attention span, Patchfur. Come, let us continue. We need a total of ten cats. I know I can get Shortwhisker to participate, so that leaves six for us to collect."
ooc| What do y'all say they stumble across Slatefoot and Grimykit?

Ooc: Sure. That's fine with me. But Patchfur won't be happy about Shortwhisker.
Bic: Patchfur's eyes widened in disgust. "Shortwhisker?!" he managed to squeak, the loathing and hatred filling him up until his eyes burned. He wondered if Woodstripe would be so eager to accept the deranged cat if she knew what he had said about disabled cats. After all, Frozenheart was her brother. Hopefully she would prevent him from joining. But he couldn't say anything. Woodstripe obviously thought everything he said was automatically wrong. Stupid! If he had just pretended to accept her twisted idea of fairness, he might've had a chance in persuading her to not bring the most twisted, vile cat in the enclosure into her makeshift Clan. Cursing his own stupidity, it was all Patchfur could do to keep his claws in the sandy earth.

Spiderpaw frowned. "I don't want to be imprudent," she meowed slowly, "but the last time I saw Shortwhisker, he was completely illogical. You couldn't even understand what he was saying, he was so hysterical. I can sort-of understand Patchfur's feelings, although Shortwhisker does, of course, have the right to participate in our experiment."

Finally, something he and Spiderpaw agreed on. Relief flooded through Patchfur's body when he heard Spiderpaw speak. At least someone supported his views on the cat. "Yes, he was insane. It would be a bad idea for him to participate. He probably doesn't even know what he's doing right now," he meowed, looking to Spidepaw for support.

"Yes, Shortwhisker. You have met him? I would understand if you have emotions of..." She paused, nosing through her artillery of words. "...emotions of aversion toward him. Yet I will still ask him for his participation. He is devoted to Clanhood and, while I do in earnest comprehend why one would find him unpleasant, he is not one to rebel under the jurisdiction of authority. If a leader tells him not to agitate you, he will not agitate you. I can't say the same outside of a Clan scenario."

Patchfur sighed. Woodstripe did have a point- Shortwhisker wouldn't eat if a leader told him not to- but he still despised the twisted tom. The real reason Woodstripe probably wanted him was because he would worship her and do whatever she said. She probably didn't even care what he had said about disabled cats, as long as she had a slave to do her bidding. The prospect of having to spend seven days with Shortwhisker was enough to make Patchfur quit, almost. But he managed to control his impulse, though his fur was still raised and his eyes gleamed with a hostile light.

bic: Batkit perked up his ears, hearing a new name. There's so many cats that I don't know yet, he thought, a bit daunted by the fact that there were a lot of felines that he hadn't even seen yet. But I might meet them in this experiment we're doing!
He concentrated on the older cats' conversation, but they were beginning to get boring and his mind was wandering away.
ooc: Mm'kay! ^^
