Ooc: The tom was Patchfur. He was being angry earlier.
Bic: "Well, what you two have a difference of opinion? Sure, you may totally agree with your leader, but not everyone will. A leader can't possibly please every cat, but if we all made decisions, we could talk and discuss things so that everyone would be happy. I want a clan too, but I couldn't bear to have someone else running my life like I'm a helpless kit. You may love being told what to do, but I don't. Even if I wasn't part of the problem, one or two cats having the power to do everything is a very, very bad idea. It means that they could do basically whatever they want with us and we couldn't do anything about it."

Shortwhisker's tail began to swish once more. "Any c-cat who op-poses the leader doesn't know anyth-thing. There's n-nothing wrong with having a c-cat in power. In fact, it's p-perfect, and we wouldn't n-need to 'do anything about-t it'. Now sh-shut up. Your idiocy is g-getting on my nerves."

"So the leader is always right and everyone else is always wrong? That's what you're saying. You said that a cat that opposes the leader doesn't know anything, which means you think a leader is always right about everything," Patchfur meowed calmly, letting the comment slide past him. He had endured worse from an angry Russetstorm- her warrior suffix revealed that about her. Sadness arose in him from thinking about her and he turned his head away from the debate.

Eyes widening, she gulped and wondered what she could do to stop the fight that looked like it was coming. She glanced from the stuttering tom to the one who had turned away from the debate. The she-cat took a deep breath before she spoke. "Look, you two both support a Clan," Spiderpaw meowed hastily. "Why do you insult him so?" she meowed to Shortwhisker. Turning to Patchfur, she meowed, "Why do you turn away from us?" Unfortunately for the naive she-cat, she accidentally blurted out what she was thinking-"Do you think you're too good for us?"
Spiderpaw gasped at what she had just said. "S-sorry. I didn't m-mean that, honest!" she stuttered. The young she-cat tensed, ready to run away at a moment's notice. "I-I really am sorry. P-please don't hurt me!"

"Other c-cats can be right, t-too, by agreeing with th-the leader - but other than that, y-yes, yes, and yes." With each repition, Shortwhisker stepped closer for emphasis, until he was in Patchfur's face. "How m-many times must I r-repeat mys-self?"
ooc| mm... this needs editing, as I wrote it before I saw Gosh's post. I'll get back to this.
{later}... okay, I see you've disregarded me and moved on.

Patchfur's face burned with embarrassment and he turned towards Spiderpaw. "No, I don't think I'm better than anyone. Unlike Shortwhisker, who thinks a leader is some kind of invincible, always right, perfect cat. I was just reminded of my sister. She's dead," he meowed harshly, the words hollow and empty. "What's so different about a leader that makes them always right and never wrong? Are they perfect?" he asked, returning to the debate and trying to take Russetstorm off his mind. It was kind of scary to see Shortwhisker like this. How would the tom react when his precious leader screwed up one day?

Spiderpaw tried not to whimper. "I'm sorry," she mewed. "I didn't realize." She looked down at her paws in shame, wishing more than anything to leave the boneyard for now. But she didn't want to look like a fool.
Bronzefoot meowed coldly, "Unless I'm wrong in assuming your beliefs are like most other Clanners', Shortwhisker, the leader would be elected by the other cats. Before they were elected leader, the leader would be a normal cat who makes mistakes just like anyone else. How would becoming leader change that?"

The tuxedo tom rolled his eyes. "Sure, they'd-d make the m-mistakes normal cats make - trip on r-rocks or miss a p-pounce d-during a hunt - b-but not any m-mistakes in lead-ding. There isn't anyth-thing they c-could do to mess up th-that."
ooc| What do y'all think... is Shortwhisker more of a pest than Woodstripe?

Patchfur looked at Spiderpaw warmly, blinking his eyes. "I forgive you. It's not like you would know anyway. I would never consider myself better than any other cat, unlike a leader, who would consider themselves above the rest of us. I simply want all cats to be equal, and be treated equally." Then he responded to Shortwhisker. "But other cats make mistakes in leading. Sometimes my dad made mistakes leading a rat hunt. Like Bronzefoot said, before election, they'd be a normal cat. Normal cats make mistakes in leading. Becoming a leader wouldn't suddenly make them perfect," Patchfur meowed, trying to get Shortwhisker to understand.
Ooc: Oh yes, he is. He thinks a leader is some sort of invincible god.

ooc| I think he's worse than both Woodstripe AND Grimykit. Say, you should make a less annoying character next time you make a character, Ten. Just kidding-you don't have to if you enjoy playing annoying characters. Plus, they make the roleplay interesting. =3
