Fluffing out his fur more than ever, Grimykit's eyes widened as he stood his ground. He hissed again and snapped his fangs at the incoming cat. His aim was to bite Slatefoot's neck - not that his aim was all too precise, but it was his first attempt, and his sight was blurred with anger and fright. Pride mixed in with this as well, for he might as well give the onlookers a show.

A yowl in the air woke Brightfur from her short slumber. Amber eyes flickered open, closing into focus on the huddle of cats close by. Stetching her legs, still somewhat numb with her sleep, she walked over to the group to see what the fuss was about. Imagine her surprise to see a fight going on, between the kit she knew as Grimykit and this blue-grey tom that she had not had the pleasure of meeting yet. "Now, It's not really fair to pick a fight with a kit, now is it?" She called out in his direction. Grimykit was probably half of his size, so how was that a fair fight? "How come you haven't stopped them yet?" Her head turned to the spectators. "Surely you care that they live?" She said in a curious and patient tone.

Beetlepaw nodded at Bronzefoot one more time before glancing over at Brightfur, the one who had spoken. She didn't want to be distracted from the fight too long, but she would at least answer the other she-cat.
"Stop them? Why would we do that?" The tabby asked. "I'm not getting in the middle of that," she nodded towards Slatefoot and Grimykit, "because I'd rather not get my fur torn off." It might be an improvement if that happened, though; it's not like Beetlepaw took care of her pelt, anyways.
"Plus," the she-cat sneered, "it's quite entertaining, if you ask me. Not that you did ask me but who cares?"

ooc| I want Grimykit to protest that he's not a kit (because he isn't) but he's trying to bite someone right now. ;;

"This place would be better off without at least one of them," Bronzefoot meowed, "and as Beetlepaw said, who's going to go in there and get their fur ripped off to stop them?" After a few moments, he smirked and added, "That kit's not useful to anyone anyways, except for entertainment."

"Yeah, yeah!" Beetlepaw nodded. "One less cat would mean more food for the rest of us, even if it wasn't much." She pointed out. Atleast there was some good things that would come from this fight that she knew of now.
"Yeah... that kit's all talk and no fight," the she-cat agreed, ignoring the fact that Grimykit was fighting. "I mean, look at 'em! He looks like he ain't never fought any cat a'fore." She sneered.

Slatefoot swerved to the side, narrowly avoiding a nip to his throat. He snarled, baring his fangs, and lunged toward Grimykit, heading toward his shoulder. He hardly took note of his surroundings, but he glimpsed a flash of bright ginger and smelled a new scent.

Harepaw flicked her ears in the direction of the gathered cats, having seated herself slightly outside Grimykit's perimeter. She wanted to intercept, it wasn't right to bother him, but she knew she'd just get rebuked by the spectators or maybe even the young tom himself. Puckering her whiskers, she watched with interest as Brightfur did exactly as she wanted to do. "Oh!" she exclaimed to herself, having not thought any other cat would come to the rescue. Scrambling to her paws, she trotted closer. "Why are you picking on him? Just let him claim the territory," Harepaw mewed in a somewhat soft voice. Glancing in Grimykit's direction, she twitched her whiskers. "Sorry for intruding on your land."

"Pfft," grunted Orangestorm, lime coloured eyes fixing themselves on Harepaw. "What that kit needs is a good ol' roughin' up. Too much cheek, is what I say. No manners, no nuthin'. Not the brains of a cricket, either.
Cats," he continued, a tinge of false wisdom in his voice, "like 'im, deserve a good bit of discipline. And I doubt ain't no one 'ere's gonna object to that." His eyes rested on Harepaw once more and moved away.
"No one with guts, any'ow."

Harepaw's short, light fur fluffed up a bit and her paws worked anxiously at the ground. Shifting to plop quietly onto her haunches, the apprentice fixed her muddy gaze on Orangestorm. "I suppose some manners would do him some good," she mumbled. "But tearing him to bits wouldn't be very polite. If the fight gets out of hand, someone will need to stop them." Her ears swiveled back and then upright once more.
