Slatefoot rolled his eyes as he watched the cats argue, his dark pelt helping him hide in the shadows. He was hoping to eavesdrop for a bit and perhaps annoy them a little, but when he heard the little tabby announce that he owned this little patch of land, he decided to speak up.
Stepping out of the darkness that enveloped his muscular figure, he meowed, "You think you can keep cats away from that place just because you said so?" A sneer was set on his face as he stared at the younger cat, a challenging gleam in his eyes. Who does he think he is, to just choose a place and say it was his? If it came to a fight, he wouldn't stand a chance against me, thought the blue-toned tom. "I bet that the most weakest kit around here can finish you off," taunted he, his tail tip twitching.

"Oh yeah?" He narrowed his eyes. Even if the newcomer was a stronger cat, he couldn't stand an attack on his pride. Grimykit was bold, irrational, and yes, stupid enough to take the challenge. Baring his fangs, he hissed, "Try me."

Bronzefoot muttered something unintelligible. 'It shouldn't matter to me if he doesn't answer my questions,' he thought grumpily. 'But this looks like good entertainment.'

The large feline hissed and curled his lip, revealing sharp teeth. His dark fur fluffed up in an attempt to intimidate the youngster and his limbs grew taut as he prepared to fight. "That sure you can beat me? You must be as dumb as a beetle."
He intended to provoke the other cat into attacking first. If he landed on his back, he could roll over and squash him; if he leaped head-on, his big paws could swat him away. Confident in his strength, Slatefoot crouched low, ready to intercept any blows given to him.

"Looks like this will be interesting," Bronzefoot murmured to Beetlepaw. He let out a small chuckle, but subtly scooted back a little so as to give the sparring cats some space. 'This kind of entertainment doesn't come in a Clan,' he thought to himself. 'But then, I suppose most cats who want Clans are too scared to even watch this kind of thing.'

"That cat's asking for a death-wish right there," the tabby muttered in reply to Bronzefoot. Of course, she was speaking of Grimykit; she had no doubt that Slatefoot would win in a fight. "Don'tcha think?" She added as a second thought, incase the tom thought differently of who would be victorious in a battle.

Bronzefoot nodded but didn't speak; though he was not afraid of Grimykit, he preferred not to have any wounds today. 'I wonder who else will be watching,' he thought to himself. Then his expression darkened. 'If any cats who are for a Clan see this, they'll probably try to stop it. Because they want peace and harmony and all that.'

Orangestorm frowned. His little game had been snatched away from him and was now being played by a couple other cats, some of them who he thought he recognised from somewhere. His feeling of boredom flowing back into him, Orangestorm got up to listen to the bickering from afar, deciding that he may as well stay and watch.
This cat, he told himself, as he watched Grimykit closely, has to learn his place. Full of cheek, he is. Orangestorm detested cheek.

Rocks for brains? What was this beetle-brained idiot thinking? For all Slatefoot knew, it was that stuck-up tom that had rocks for brains. Unsheathing sharp claws, he yowled loudly, forgetting about his battle plan. He dived toward the smaller cat, flicking out a large paw to trip him up.
