"Are you trying to hint at something?" Beetlepaw rolled her eyes. She didn't look up at him, but her words were clearly directed at Bronzefoot. "Because, I'm thinking you are. But, I gotta make sure, you know? 'Cause you can never be too sure about something."

Brindlestorm ignored Beetlepaw's introduction. The tortoiseshell need not offend the young cat again. She didn't waste her time with arguments, like the other three.
She softly snorted at the tom's implication towards the lizard. "Go catch your own food, you lazy sack of fur," she snapped. "You're not so weak as to be unable to catch a little lizard, are you?"

"Of course Bronzefoot is a strong and able-bodied cat; one may know this upon the sight," Woodstripe defended in an even tone. "He has full capability to provide for himself. Now we needn't offend one another over these simple matters. Shall we return to the issue of importance? Brindlestorm, I take it you are not fond of creating a closer community?"

"By asking if I was trying to hint at something, are you trying to hint that I failed at hinting at that something?" Bronzefoot meowed with a slight smile. "And no, I'm not weak. But why waste prey when Beetlepaw there has a lizard she doesn't seem to be eating?" He shrugged. "Of course, if Beetlepaw's going to eat that lizard, then I will go after a lizard of my own. I just don't wish to waste prey."

"I.... uh, er...." The tabby gaped, not sure what to say next. She blinked a few times before licking her chest fur, embarassed because of her hesitation. "Do you enjoy being confusing?" She then asked, deciding that was the best thing to say. "And, if you really want it, you can have it. It's not like I caught it, anyways. I'll just go catch my own, anyways." She offered.

Bronzefoot chuckled. "Perhaps I do enjoy being confusing - although to me, my question made at least a little sense. And thank you for the lizard." He went over to the aforementioned lizard and began to eat it. "If you did not catch this, how did it come to be in your possession?" he asked once he had finished eating the lizard.

"Well, that's probably because you were the one who said it," she shrugged, pointing out the already obvious. Beetlepaw didn't watch him eat; that would be rude. Not that she cared what was rude or not, but it wouldn't hurt her to be polite for once. At the sound of his question, she nodded towards Woodstripe. "She gave it to me - as a gift, I guess...?"

"I see," Bronzefoot meowed, glancing briefly at Woodstripe. He yawned and began to groom himself, wondering if this was the end of their talk of a Clan. 'Maybe,' he reasoned. 'Woodstripe is outnumbered. Although if she's anything, she is persistent from what I've seen.'

Noting that Bronzefoot had looked in her direction, Woodstripe nodded with a large, beaming smile. "Yes, it was a gift. I was not hungry, you see, yet felt a desire to make productive use of my time. I caught a lizard and resolved to give it to whichever cat I encountered next - this happened to be Beetlepaw. Now I see that Beeltepaw has passed her generosity onto you, Bronzefoot. This sort of sharing forms the structure of a Clan."

Bronzefoot shrugged impassively. "Now, I can understand giving away a piece of prey you don't need. But catching some prey just for the sake of giving it away? That gives me a bad vibe normally. You see, a cat could catch another cat some prey so that the cat they gave the prey to would be in their debt. I doubt that you would be the type of cat to do this, but in other situations..." He paused. "This would work especially well with someone like, I dunno, Frailheart."
