Role player| Juli
_____
Name| Duststripe
Gender| She-cat
Physical Description| Duststripe is, as her name suggests, a light brownish-grey mackerel tabby. She also has white markings on her muzzle, chest, and belly. Her eyes are a bright sea green. Her build is very lanky and lithe, and her limbs are very skinny and long. Her head is quite angular, and her body in general - aside from her belly - is very bony with well-defined edges. This thin structure, while robbing her of brawn, makes up for it by giving her great speed and agility.
Views| Duststripe is very much against the idea of a Clan. It is not that she doesn't trust authority, she simply wants no one restricting her and ordering her around. Besides, her independent and rebellious nature would eventually cause her to disobey command, anyway. She also hates the idea of each cat helping one another. She is stubborn and refuses to believe that she needs help from anyone, though she wouldn't mind giving it. Despite all this, if a Clan were formed, it would not be her life's goal to destroy it. Let others do what they want, she says, so long as they don't force her into it. That would be what would cause her to turn violent, not the formation of a Clan.
Kin| Beetlefur (father), Patchstorm (mother), Amberclaw (uncle-in-law), Lightfur (aunt), Goldenpaw (female cousin)
History| Duststripe had a fairly normal upbringing. Shortly after her mother, Patchstorm, was impregnated, her father Beetlefur left her mother, so Patchstorm had only her sister Lightfur to help her in pregnancy. Lightfur was deeply embarrassed that her more irritable sister had found a suitable mate and had gotten pregnant before her, but she put these feelings aside to care for her. When Patchstorm was unable to hunt due to her heavy belly, Lightfur would get her food. She would accompany Patchstorm to the stream to drink and comfort her when she was stressed or in pain. Patchstorm had claimed a territory for herself, so her sister always knew where to find her if she needed anything and constantly defended it from other cats. However, when the day of birth finally came, Patchstorm was heatbroken to discover that three of her kits were stillborn and only two had survived. Lightfur acted mildly concerned and offered sympathy, but her jealousy caused her to think otherwise.
Heat later took one of the survivng kits, but the other, Dustkit, was strong and endured the blistering conditions. Lightfur resented the kit, thinking that she deserved to have one instead, but soon after Duskit reached apprenticeship and became Dustpaw, Lightfur got her wish. She met a gorgeous tom named Amberclaw who, unlike Patchstorm's mate, stayed with Lightfur after she gave birth to three kits. Dustpaw was overjoyed to learn that she now had three little cousins to spend time with and she visited them whenever she could.
While only one of Lightfur's kits survived the first few weeks, a little golden tabby named Goldenkit, it was not this that sent Lightfur into a grief-stricken rage. Amberclaw had not been visiting Lightfur very often; he had begun to see her less and less after Goldenkit's eyes opened. Whenever she went to find him, he always had an excuse as to why he never came to see her or his kit. He tried to make time to see them so Lightfur wouldn't be suspicious of him, but eventually she found out the truth - he had impregnated another she-cat and wanted to spend more time with her than Lightfur. Lightfur was furious, telling him she never wanted to see him again.
She returned heartbroken and suddenly resented Goldenkit, for she looked nearly identical to Amberclaw. So, in a rush, she told Patchstorm she would be leaving and to look after Goldenkit. She never returned and they later found out that she had died while hunting a rat.
Patchstorm did not want to have to take care of another kit, so when Dustpaw earned her warrior name, Duststripe, for her tabby markings, she told Duststripe to go find a new place to live and to take Goldenkit with her.
Now, Duststripe lives in her own spot in the edifice and is training Goldenkit, who she renamed Goldenpaw, as her apprentice. The two have grown very close and Duststripe hopes to see Goldenpaw reach warrior-hood - almost as much as Goldenpaw does.
