Hailpaw nodded, reassured by the tom's words. Even though she wanted more information, at least there wasn't some strict code to follow. And his words about food were definitely helpful. After all, she'd been near death, and then she'd met Dusklight, who'd told her about the Light, and Frozenheart, who'd given her rat meat. She should probably thank him.
"Oh, and thank ya fer the rat meat, Frozen'eart." She said, smiling at the white tom. "Wha'ever ya think o'me, Ah'm grateful fer that."
The little gray she-cat chuckled at the brown tabby's words. "Sure are. It's a problem an' a half dealin' with 'em, but there are rewards. Hope ya don' mind 'em."
Though she might detest the burden of dealing with them, Hailpaw was actually rather fond of her kits. They were cute, and plus they were valuable, the future of the Enclosure. On her own, she was simply attractive to toms, but with her kits she was valuable to the feuding cons and Clanners - another motive for joining Dusklight was that with luck, he and the Light would protect her from anyone who would take advantage of her family.
Of course, she could always choose to give herself and her kits the advantage to one side or the other, but for now sticking with this tom seemed best.
Hailpaw beamed at Blotchkit. "Ya won' learn to catch lizards fer a while, bu' Imma bring some to ya and you can see how ya like 'em. But it's good ta be enthusiastic, Blotchkit, keep it up."
Stonekit reluctantly dropped off the striped cat and decided to sneak up behind his little brother, leaping on him and saying "Boo!"
