This isn't a matter of extreme importance, but I was curious as to why there can only be one cat at a time who has a certain prefix. If it has to do with in-character reasons, how can it be that the cats regulate this kind of thing?
If a parent wishes to name their kit Stonekit, but there's already a cat whose name is Stonefur living on the other side of the enclosure, how are they meant to know this? Do they have to ask around to see if there are any other cats with Stone as a prefix already?
If it's for other reasons, I can't help but think that it may seem peculiar from an in-character standpoint that for an inexplicable reason, no cat has the same prefix.

It's more of an out of character reason, I suppose, so that we can be lazy and refer to a character as "Woody" or "Pebbles" without there being confusion due to prefix multiples. If, in the future, there are so many characters than we run out of suggestions for new names, duplicates will be permitted.
For the in-character world, you'll notice that I don't stop people from using the same prefixes for non-played kin characters. So for them, it's already as if you sometimes meet cats of the same prefix.

Ah, that makes much more sense. Thank you.
