I've been asked if the cats here would know about cobras. I'd like to hear what the members of Starless have to say on this.
Cobras, being reptiles, would seek heat, correct? While it is hot in the enclosure, wouldn't snakes prefer direct sunlight?

I don't think they'd enter, personally. It would get to cold at night and though they could escape easily, but I think they'd end up being too lethargic towards the end of the day. Espiecally since, if I read correctly, the enclosure has more shadows spots then sun.

True, but cobras, being reptiles, have the temperature of their surroundings. If it got hot one day in the desert, and they saw a potential shelter where they could cool off, would they not go into it?

Maybe they'd only be in when the tempature is high, even for a desert?

"and they saw a potential shelter where they could cool off," --x
I thought snakes tried to avoid cooling off?

"I thought snakes tried to avoid cooling off?"
I'm no expert, but if the temperature got too high, don't you think they would enter the enclosure, if only for a little while? Erm...I guess I just repeated what Child said. xP

I think they do most of the time, but I was watching animal planet and a reptile was on a rock. It sunned for awhile, then went under the rock for a few minutes.

When reptiles get too hot after warming up, they go into hiding places to cool off.

Couldn't they be hunting rats in the enclosure?
