In order to join the site, one has to agree to the ProBoards Terms of Service, yes?
The Terms of Service states:
BY USING THE WEBSITE OR SERVICES, YOU REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT YOU ARE AT LEAST 13 YEARS OLD AND ARE OTHERWISE LEGALLY QUALIFIED TO ENTER INTO AND FORM CONTRACTS UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
If one were under thirteen years of age and wished to join a site such as this, how would one go about doing that without getting anyone into trouble? Or, where can I find more information on this subject?
Thank you. This is a lovely site, by the way. ;)

ahh, I remember when this was a problem of mine. All I did, though, is wait 'till I was old enough. Sorry that doesn't help. Is parental permission a possibility?

It is a possibility, in fact.
But who needs to know I have permission from my parents, and what can I do to let them know?
Do I fill out an official form or something ridiculous like that and send it somewhere, or do I just say "HAY FATHER CAN I JOIN THIS SITE WHARR EVERYONE PRETENDS THEY'RE A TALKING KITTY LOL" and sign up?
:c.

I don't know. D: Would it be too painful to wait however long?
...but you're already using this website, by the way.

But I don't want to wait. >:c /sigh Well, do you know where I can figure out how to join /right now/? Or... do you know what would happen if I joined and someone discovered I was under thirteen without permission? ^.^
SHHH. It's a secret, Ten. D:

For serious, I doubt anybody's going to come after you if you lie about your age on the internet where you're not supposed to give out your real age unless you're 46.

I'm not worried about that, really; it's just I've heard the site creator can get into legal trouble for knowingly accepting personal information from someone under thirteen. I don't want to get you into any kind of trouble. I'd feel bad. D:
Mmph... well, someone I know is interested in joining. Even if I can't be a part of this site quite yet, I suppose she could...

I know that I was into proboards WAYYYYY before I was thirteen (I am thirteen right now, in fact) and I um, cough, splutter, well let me just say that I must have not seen that rule. (but I did read the rules!) I only joined a few weeks before I joined thirteen, it couldn't have been that bad? And before that, I was roleplaying on sites that allowed younger than thirteen year olds to be on it, (though I like proboards a lot more).

I've been in that position before. I admit I lied about my age until I turned 13. In fact, I was secretly celebrating not having to lie about my age on sites that enforce being over 13 to be on messageboards (Neo, here, etc.)
