I start school sometime next week. /bought supplies today. It won't stop me from getting online, although if I participate in the district musical this year it'll cut down a lot of my time.
And we already have a stalker here. Her name is Maydragon and IF SHE IS READING THIS, WHICH I KNOW SHE IS, SHE SHOULD MAKE AN ACCOUNT ALREADY. But have you been reading the role play threads, Draco?

Yeah, but I'm a freshman and in band so I have band stuff Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until five, then because I'm an honors and AP student (which is for smart people), I have homework and I'm going to have no social life what-so-ever. ;~; -thatwassonotarunonsentence-
UM, I can be the other stalker. I'll be the Ten Stalker, how about that? o3o;; Erm... no? Not really. I've read just a bit of it before, and I got scared really quickly because everyone here writes really good.

"I'm going to have no social life what-so-ever." --
Like me! I mean, uh, I'm sure you'll be fine.
"I'll be the Ten Stalker, how about that?" --
Another one? Nah, we can have more than one Starless stalker.
"I've read just a bit of it before, and I got scared really quickly because everyone here writes really good." -- x) That's nothing to be scared of. We don't bite, and I find that reading others' good writing helps me improve -- I'm sure it's like that for everyone; and besides, wouldn't you rather be around us than illiterates? Starless really isn't that advanced, though. I've seen some long, long posts that had like nine big paragraphs. o.o I'm more interested in what's happening than how well you can describe it or how many words you use.

My school starts on the 24th, and I bought supplies a week ago. Which is really weird, because normally I buy school supplies at most a week before school starts. I'm convinced I've forgotten something, and I can't find my nice scientific calculator.

Hmm, my writing style is usually like 600-800 words with pretty colors and borders and sometimes rambly. Should I drop that for Starless and post like you guys or should I be a diamond in the ruff?

I'm not sure diamond in the rough is so accurate. I don't think you're a diamond in a noise a dog makes.
Sure, big long posts can be good sometimes, and sometimes short ones do the job. It all depends on the scenario. I myself don't spend a lot of time describing the background in my posts because 90% of the time it doesn't matter. Sure, saying what your cat smells/feels/tastes/sees/hears is important, but if it's just ordinary stuff, no one cares.
I only bother with flowery description when my character is doing deep thinking, because I enjoy metaphors and symbolism with my cats' thoughts and situations, don't ask me why. YesI should probably stop doing that, despite how fun it is.
I generally don't like rambly posts unless the character is supposed to be rambling. As for pretty colors...whatever. I don't care either way. Frankly I think they're a waste of time but that's just me.
That was probably too long and no one cared.

As for colors and whatnot, as long as it doesn't hurt to look at it, I don't mind. I don't enforce any sort of length limit, either, but don't write about anything that isn't relevant, you know? If your character is getting attacked or has been asked a direct question, don't give us seven paragraphs of staring at cracks in the wall and and contemplating her feelings on something else entirely. But if your character has a lot to say or is doing several things or you have anything else that requires a lot of words to cover, go for it. I'm not sure diamond in the rough is so accurate. I don't think you're a diamond in a noise a dog makes. /took a moment to figure that out "Sure, big long posts can be good sometimes, and sometimes short ones do the job. It all depends on the scenario." -- This. "YesI should probably stop doing that, despite how fun it is." -- Nah, I don't see a good reason for you to quit being descriptive. "That was probably too long and no one cared." -- Saying things like this ^ is what you should quit doing.
