Dottedfoot dozed on the hot, uncomfortable ground, dreaming of better times. But then, she felt the same teeth she'd felt for seasons. The same bite. The same shock.
That only happened once.
The gray-spotted elder awoke. The old dream had haunted her again like a cat stalking an injured lizard that refuses to die.
She looked around warily, hoping no cat had seen her thrashes and groans that she knew had transpired in her unconsciousness.
"Well, Dots, looks like you're still worried about not being of use in the Experiment." She mumbled to herself.
Was it a valid concern, though? Dingypaw didn't seem to worry about it at all...but that was her choice. She wondered if there were any other elders in the Clan attempt. She should ask Spiderstripe or Redstream. Dottedfoot began to get up.

Ooc: Isn't Dingypaw in the Clan attempt too?

...that's what she said. xD She was thinking about the Experiment and how Dingy doesn't seem to care about being very active in it.

He was wandering the outskirts of the Enclosure, as he usually did during this time of day. Perhaps he would get lucky and fing a lizard or a beetle, or something to eat. But of course, he wasn't that lucky. Littlestorm sighed and sat down on his hindquarters, looking around. Well, look who it was! Miss Dottedfoot! Was he happy to see her? Was he supposed to be happy to see her? Littlestorm had not spoken to her for some time, so he really couldn't remember. But social rules implied that he should at least say hello, ask how the kits were, etc. Did Dottedfoot have kits?
He didn't think so. Standing up and padding quietly towards her, he began to speak. "Hello, Dottedfoot. Long time no see."
ooc. That was horrible. -____-

Her surprise showed on her face, while her brain began to consider what she could do. "Hi, Littlestorm. Say, did you ever join the Experiment? Last time you just kinda...disappeared." She tried not to have an edge in her voice - indeed, why hadn't he joined the Experiment? Surely it was the duty of any Clanner who was able to join so they could be a part of it.
Maybe she was being a little arrogant, but she doubted it; it only made sense, so that they could band together and do what should have been done long ago.

For a moment, he was taken aback by her bluntness. From what he had gathered of Dottedfoot before, she really wasn't the type of cat to come out straight and say something. Still, Littlestorm supposed he deserved it. He had agreed that he was a Clanner and all Clanners were participating in the Experiment. All Clanners except him. Hmmm... Dottedfoot had a point.
But he still shrugged and gave her a nonchalant look, trying to look as if her question was the typical "hello, how do you do?". Then again, those types of greetings weren't so typical in the Enclosure.
"I've been here and there, watching and waiting. I was watching the Experiment, but wasn't sure where to get started and who I was supposed to talk to to become involved with it." Yep. That was an anwser. It was an anwser. Hopefully it would be a good enough one to suffice the she-cat infront of him.

It was a fair answer, she had to admit that. It would be embarrassing for any cat to try and join a society without knowing anything about it. Perhaps she could not blame him for being cautious. Still, he should join, and she would happily help him do it.
"Good point, Littlestorm. However, as I assume you're still interested in joining, I can assist you if you like. I know exactly who to talk to. I might not be able to find them very fast, but I know who they are and what they look like."

Littlestorm relaxed for a moment. It seemed that his anwser had been enough for Dottedfoot, and lucky for him it was getting him into the Experiemtn, something he had wanted to be in for some time.
"Yes, that would be wonderful. Thank you very much. I don't mind, I have a lot of time." He meowed politely. "So how have you been, Dottedfoot?"

She nodded at him with respect in her orange eyes. Good. He seemed improved from last time; perhaps watching the cats of the Experiment work together had worked a positive change on him. Not that he'd been particularly bad, but he was certainly nicer now. The gray-patched she-cat was willing to go out of her way for him - though really, it wouldn't be out of her way if anything it would help her gain standing in the Experiment. Of course, she also saw it as doing Littlestorm a favor. But it was nice that it also benefited her. She felt slightly selfish, but pushed the uncomfortable feeling away.
As she began padding along in the direction to where she had last seen the leader and deputy, she replied.
"Ah, that's good. Glad to see you don't mind waiting for these old bones. That's a good quality, it is. Some young cats are very rude these days. Me? I'm all right. I'd be better if I hadn't recently found out my half brother joined the Rebellion." She grimaced. She'd learned it only recently, but the news still troubled her, more even than the returning nightmare. That was merely a shade of the past, after all, while this was present and disturbing.
Some neat, smallish gray she-cat con had been padding by, talking with the tom himself. She remembered the dreaded words so clearly: "Pfft, don't worry about attacking - what we need to do right now is figure out how we attack. I thought they told you this." And he'd nodded back comprehensibly, adding "Although I do hope Beetlepaw and the cats advising her come up with something soon - at least a rough idea." The she-cat had sighed, clearly annoyed with his simplicity. "Don't you understand anything, lizardbrain? What use would it be to attack that idiot crew of dirtfaces now, when it's only an idea they're trying out, only temporary? Once THEY'VE started really planning, WE'LL start really planning." And she'd grinned savagely, her glee in disrupting the precious efforts of the noble Clanners only too clear.
Hunched in the shadow of the wall, she'd heard every word and gulped at them. This was another reason for finding Spiderstripe and Redstream with all speed.
Now if only she didn't limp.

Dullpaw was bored. Life in the enclosure was so dull when the light season came along. The heat was getting to him like it did to several other cats. But he still maintained his proud swagger whenever he walked, even though it was in a rather sluggish manner.
"Hey! Ya two ova' there! Where ya goin'? D'ya wanna join a Clan?" True, his 'Clan' was in pieces-it had fallen apart some time ago-but he could still rebuild it. No problem.
