The Apprentice's Hunt

[Cloud]

He was unperturbed by the less than friendly response. "Calm down, buddy, I was just asking." He said amusedly. Really, this little tom who seemed to think he knew so much was quite funny. Maybe the striped tom should stick around him for a while. "But hey, if you have better things to do, by all means, go off. Apparently we're not good enough for you." He said with a chuckle.

Perhaps not the wisest business strategy, especially for one of the group he was currently supporting, but it was a kind of test. A test to see how the little tom would react.

[Ten]

"Well f-fine!" Shortwhisker spat. Ugh, what was the matter with that guy? He turned and hurried away from the group, forcing his legs into a rushed walk and trying not to seem like he was running away. He should warn Redstream that this new experiment member wasn't the nicest of cats.

[Gosh]

Nightbreeze's main concern at the moment was finding water in this awful light season. However, he was ever the social cat, and it was hard to resist making a beeline towards the group of cats he saw speaking not too far away. Especially because he recognized one of 'em - Darkfur, who, while a bit eccentric, seemed quite promising.

'Perhaps they'll know where a puddle of water might be located,' he thought in an attempt to justify himself, as he padded over to the group.

"Hey, Darkfur," he greeted the tom. "And, uh," addressing the rest of the group, "I'm Nightbreeze. I was just wondering what the topic of discussion was over here."

[Brain]

"My lizard and something about an experiment," Shadowpaw mewed and began eating her lizard. Upon looking at the newcomer, she noticed that his fur was black, like hers. "M' namesh Shadapaw," she said as she finished the lizard.

[Cloud]

The brown tabby was pleasantly surprised. Or was he only surprised? Either way worked. "Oh, hi, Nightbreeze. Nothing much. Shortwhisker was here and he's gone. Anything going on in the Experiment lately?" Then he realized what the little black cat had asked.

"Oh, it's a....trial, you could say, of a Clan attempt. It might work, it might not, but whatever happens, I'm going to be there to see it."

Short, quick, and hopefully he'd managed to sound impressive.

[Gosh]

"That's a pretty good description of it," Nightbreeze meowed with a nod. "There's nothing new that I know of - how'd the hunt go?" Perhaps the two she-cats here might be persuaded into thinking differently. The Experiment was the best hope for Clanhood yet.
